The trade off is the coach is playing Westbrook a lot less minutes so that he can maintain that usage rate when he's on the court, if you'd told Jordan and Kobe that they were only going to play 30 minutes and to take every shot, they could probably motor through just as high if not higher usage, that's not as conducive to winning (which is why they're not even a 500 team without kd, and that team is way more talented than the lineup we were sending out with harden through those injuries) but it does maximize Westbrook.

Jordan didn't have better team mates when he was at that absurd rate, and neither really did Kobe (I'm taking Adams and Ibaka over Mihm and Odom, I'm taking Reggie over Smush).

    Sample size.

Russell has played 500+ minutes, Harden has played 1000+.

    Check back in February.

I don't care how you slice it. His per minute production is simply out of this world right now. Out of this world.

To me, and best player is an opinion, WB is the best player in the world right now. We're not talking about MVP b/c his team's record isn't good. The MVP race is between Harden and Curry right now.

But performance wise, no one is better or even close. What WB is doing right now is simply ABSURD.

He never was. He finished what? 7th or 8th last year. Irrelevant.

You are aware he was playing less minutes earlier on b/c he was coming back from injury right?

Last few games, his minutes have increased to mid to high 30s again. And his production per minute is still the same.

Can he keep this up? I doubt it b/c this is a historic pace he's on. If he kept this up, this would arguably be the best regular season ever, or at least top 2-3.

What do you base this on though? You just looked at his peak production and didnt consider anything else, not usage rate not efficiency and not the fact that Harden has more stats per game. If Harden monopolized all the shots like WB does hed have similar PER, however since Harden actually has better teammates and knows team ball he's worse than WB?

The great thing about LBJ isnt just the stat totals, its the efficiency he made the most of every shot he took. Maybe WB can come close to the stat total but its at the cost of touches for the other team members WB is just lucky he went to a team with no low post scorers.

WB is unparallelled in winning and losing for his team at the same time.

His berserk mode cannot be copied.

I am not if he is the best but he sure is Urkel or Turtle on Steroids.
