Very interesting that he didn't mention Shaq and picked Hakeem (and Kobe) clearly over Shaq as the best player he's played with.

He would have two fierce competitors trying to outplay each other.

Whether he started it or not,.fact is they did feud and the team was successful (more successful than before they feuded).

The question is, of course, which is the cause and which is the effect. You are assuming that the success came from the feud. It could be the other way around, which seems more inline with human nature.

Chicago is funny story, as it has surfaced over the years some former teammates HATED Michael Jordan. There was the Bill Cartwright incident. The very well-known rivalry between Jerry Krause (personnel and control reasons) and Doug Collins. Even some of his teammates thought they got shafted a little. Back to the point with Krause, it's also funny how alot of his moves went against the wishes of Michael Jordan (trading Oakley for Cartwright - because Grant was emerging as power forward, Toni Kukoc, and others)

It's ironic how he accused Krause and Reinsdorf of "just wanting to sell tickets," yet they put a team around him that yielded 6 titles and 11 winning season (one and half without him). The 93-94 season, where the Bulls almost beat their arch-nemsis, the New York Knicks without him. It's funny how he built a team that could win Post MJ. Later on in 98, MJ was quite miffed from stories, because he was unhappy about not having too much in put in personnel decision, though all one has to do is look at his days of being the Wizards' and Bobcats' GM ... you can understand why.
