Is Limbaugh that knowledgeable a football man?

Can't imagine he has the kind of cash to be the majority money guy, so I'd think Chiketts is paying the tab, with Limbaugh being a figurehead.

link to any threads here which judge a team for it's conservative/right-wing ownership?

It's pretty surprising how many liberals there seem to be on this BBS (respek!), especially since it's a Texas forum.

My guess is because it's a basketball BBS. If this were a site for the Texans or Astros, there'd be a lot more right wingers, IMO.

    Do you guys agree?

I can see us bringing back the yellow, but I'm not sure the rest of Rush's color scheme would really work for us.

owners don't have to be that knowledgeable in the sport to be successful. You just have to trust the right people.

He might not have the cash, but he has a net worth that's pretty large

I'm not sure about players refusing to play for the team but I think they could lose quite a few fans. I wouldn't want a dime of my money going to that guy and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people feel the same way.

Oh, I'm sure he's wealthier then the average wingnut, just can't see why someone with pockets deep enough for the NFL would need him on board. What do you think he brings other then his celebrity? I just don't get it.

I doubt it. You might lose some fans, but will gain others.

Rush just finished a contract that paid him 300 million dollars, and he just signed a new contract that will pay him another 300 million. This does not include his speaking engagements. He has plenty of cash to burn.

You really think people will start following the NFL just because of who owns one of the teams?

If this happens, please tell me that he won't hire that fool, Glenn Beck to be his GM. I can't stand that idiot and no, I am not a liberal by any means. I just don't care for people who are always mugging for the camera like that guy is doing. Every afternoon, the TV in the breakroom is on Fox news and that guy has his show going and he just acts like a complete and utter jackass.

Bringing politics into sports? What a concept?

This thread has turned to fail.

this guy is a freaking racist. i hope he buys the rams, and all the black players decide not to play for this *******.

he can have a team of all white people...he'll probably have a good qb, punter, kicker, and long snapper....thats about it (is that racist? :) )

    unlikely...remember [IMG]

like someone else said, between his last contract and current he's around 600 million. that doesnt even include all his earning from the 90's and other engagments/investments. Dude is a borderline billionare.

i guess the decision to work for a racist owner is easier to make when you're getting paid millions

what if he turns out to a be great owner?

the principle requirements for owning a sports franchise is having deep pockets and knowing enough to hire the right people. what difference does all that political crap have to do with owning a team?

That still wont make him a good person. i woudlnt be fan of a team who's owner wont draft the a talented player because of his race. i'm assuming he wont want a black quarterback, since they cant win right?

So if I understand this correctly, Rush Limbaugh is trying to become a minority owner. I wonder how he feels about that.
