Going to be a rough go for this firebrand radio host. https://www.foxnews.com/media/rush-limbaugh-advanced-lung-cancer I don't like him, find him to be a blowhard, a liar, a cheat, and a massive hypocrite, so basically a republican - but would not wish this on him - going to be a tough go. DD
Yeah, having seen people expire of this, I would not wish it on anyone. I have also seen people beat it though, from stage 4 even. So there is hope, especially if they identify the exact type of tumor and target it precisely Now, since this is D&D: IMHO, completely separate from his health, and completely separate from his actual thoughts about any single policy, his decades of work have done as much as any other single thing to divide Americans from each other. He literally made the separation of conservatives and liberals his life's work, whether he sees it that way or not. (And sure, he's made a ****-ton of money along the way.) If you like the modern GOP, and I know some here do, then I think you really have to thank Rush Limbaugh, big time. He created the modern template for divisive and lucrative media stars. Either the Darth Sidious or Master Yoda of talking-head media, pending your views.
Might not be decent of me to point it out, but he earned the lung cancer. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ny...wazektovzh7hg2aynhq-story.html?outputType=amp
The caller was questioning Limbaugh’s logic that society should be thankful for smokers because of the tax money generated from the sale of tobacco products. After asking who smokers were harming, Limbaugh denied second-hand smoke caused any deaths. This attitude bothers me from the standpoint: smokers are hurting the American tax payer and bottom line Using recent health and medical spending surveys, researchers calculated that 8.7 percent of all healthcare spending, or $170 billion a year, is for illness caused by tobacco smoke, and public programs like Medicare and Medicaid paid for most of these costs. In that analysis, 9.6 percent of Medicare spending, 15.2 percent of Medicaid spending and 32.8 percent of other government healthcare spending by sources such as the Veterans Affairs department, Tricare and the Indian Health Service, were attributable to smoking. Of the $170 billion spent on smoking-related healthcare, more than 60 percent was paid by government sources, they wrote in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-healthcare-costs-smoking-idUSKBN0JX2BE20141219 So, basically, a large number of a**holes are making extremely dumb and selfish decisions and then the American tax payer is left spending 10's of billions annually treating these a**holes. If you want to poison yourself to death, fine, but I don't think the American tax payer should be using it's limited resources to try and save your dumb a**.
This isn't surprising. With the health risks being public, smoking has almost been exclusively been enjoyed by lower income less educated people. I went to a mostly white private school. Hardly any of the black kids smoked. A lew white kids did. I grew up in neighborhood with a lot of low middle income blacks. Because of high my high school experience i thought white people smoked at much higher rates I can't believe how wrong i was. I wasn't the only black kid at my school from a neighborhood like mine who had that misconception.
I remember the "Rush Rooms" at places like Taste of Texas where whitecollars could go for lunch M-F and eat steaks in a room of other similars and listen to his show and slap each other on the back about how great this was and how much Bill Clinton sucked. Cancer is terrible. Rush Limbaugh is terrible. Sorry for his family.
Don’t wish cancer on anyone but Rush is one of the worst human beings alive. His talking points have been the foundation for every bad faith argument right wingers have been armed with the past 30 years to divide the country by trying to prove how liberals are an existential threat to white people. 30 plus years of nothing but bitter vile divisiveness. The fact that it’s his lungs couldn’t be more on the nose. I do hope he recovers though and has some sort of come to Jesus. Someone who has spent every breath spewing negativity and division has the chance at the end to have a moment they realize what they are leaving behind as a legacy might not be something they feel good about in the end.
Cancer might be one of only three things worse than Rush. I hope he recovers or at least suffers as little as possible.
I am not going to pile on Rush. He has raised and donated millions for luekemia and lymphoma charities. I wish him the best.
He's also taken advantage of underage foreign professional exploited sex workers, but like I said, nobody deserves cancer. I just don't want to let the implication that he's a doer of good deeds go unchallenged.
Oh come on, don't pile on the man. He may have been taking those private jets to the Dominican with bags full of Viagra on humanitarian missions, to stop the scourge of erectile disfunction on Hispaniola. Who are you to judge?
Nah, he is a blowhard, and an ******* - and has done the devils work but cancer sucks. Still hope that Trump chokes on a BigMac though. DD
When I say Limbaugh earned the cancer, I don't mean it's because I think he is a terrible person (though I do think so) and deserve it because Karma and such, but because he is a long-time smoker and was on air talking about how the cancer risk of smoking is overblown as recently as 2015. Whatever else he did with his life, he created the risk for the consequences that he now faces.
Not a Rush L. fan. Cancer is the worst. I agree, Rush did mold this uncivilized political climate that we live in today.
