i saw on another bbs....how they used a prefix of RUMOR: or IDEA: in the subject lines of all trade topics....a rumor being something with some evidence..a link to article..inside source...

it helps out..wading through the nonsense...and the real info....maybe the moderators could edit subject lines accordingly..

This is a really good idea. Little hard to put in practice (and I'd hate to think of all the "IDEA:" threads that would be on the Rockets forum page), but could be helpful. In the past when someone puts a real misleading thread title for their fantasy trade, I would change the title to include "SPECULATION:". It's probably more important now since we don't have a meaningful draft pick and we're still in the middle of the playoffs. In other words, this will be a long summer.

At the very least, perhaps we start with "RUMOR:" for legit stuff, and assume the rest is fantasy (since the majority is anyhow)

What would happen to threads that start out as ideas, but are then turned into rumors when Doc Rocket posts in them?

It's funny when you call rumors legit stuff. I understand what you mean, but it's funny. Prefixes sound like a good idea as an optional thing. I can see how it can turn into a "wrong forum" type BBS-Nazi thing where people are posting just to tell you that you should have used a prefix. Now, if you do use a prefix but you use the wrong one, well you deserve everything you get.
