how in the hell are we talking about the Oilers' dying a thousand deaths in a Miguel Tejada trade? I *hate* reliving those January flame-outs. :(

That would be $5M less than we are paying him this year, so keep Miggy at a 33% savings? Sure!

I wonder what type of FA we could sign to shore up other areas with that $5M?

I thought I was the only one feeling this way. I wasn't a big fan of the trade in the beginning, but I don't mind having the guy now.

Man, what a painfully ironic synonym error. :(

Thats exactly what I'm thinking I'm like we are 3 games out and one good starting pitcher away from being legit. I say go find another pitcher and not get rid of one of your best players.

2 games out in the loss column, this is NOT the time to pack it in....stranger things have happened.

Ouch my bad on that one! lol...

We are right in the middle of it BUT as of right now il say trade Tejada when you could get something of value...saying that I think it would be a mistake to do anything until right before the deadline since by then our faith will be much mroe clear by then!

    Legit in what sense...
Legit as in we can make this interesting all year?
Legit as in we can make the playoffs?
Legit as in we can win the playoffs?
Legit as in we can win the whole thing?

Honestly, as much as I want the Astros to do well, there are no trades we can pull off to make this team legit enough to make and win a WS. And if you cannot do that, then what is the point of trading any of your prospects.

Frankly, the Astros have been a streaky team for a couple years (yes play nearly .667 baseball for a 1.5-2 months is streaky), and I seriously doubt this play will last throughout the year.

You don't give up on the season when you are 2 games out, the 69 Mets won it all.

Injuries could happen to other teams, the Stros could get hot...anything can happen.

    Just get to the playoffs...

If we get to the playoffs, we would go with a three man rotation

    Oswalt
    Wandy
    Moehler/Hampton

    Anything can happen.

Offer him arb & make it clear that if he accepts you will move him to 3B next season.
