i read that mcgrady was upset about mj ballhogging somewhere to. i remember now. i read it on mcgradys face during the 1st round series.
Mj is a good bench player, who can provide sparks to the offense when Yao AND TMac are not in the game. But that situation only exists, maybe 10 minutes per game with TMac average ~40 minutes. James caused absolutely more harm than benifit to the team when at least one of the two stars on the floor with him at the same time, he doesn't know how to play within a system. The problem is that James is more valuable than 10 minutes, so I guess he is our best trade asset. I don't thinkg drafting Luther Head has anything to do with trading James. We simply don't have enough youth and talent in the back court.
Problem solved. S&T of Mobley for James + Head. We could give Mobley upto 5.34M in this deal. The Queens would get another SG along with Garcia and a replacement for B Jackson.
Do me a favor and add up all the championship rings won by any current Rocket not named Mike James then compare it with the number won by James by himself. Call him a loser all you want, its a free country and totally up to you if you wanna look like an idiot.
head is seemingly MJ's replacement. by all reports on head, he is a great defensive player, has a very nice jumper, and is super athletic. sounds like a young mike james with more upside and higher BBall IQ. james is our most tradable player after yao and tmac.
i am pretty sure if JVG has a problem with James' control over the ball, he would say something. He's too valuable a player to this team to be traded for NOTHING. If the right trade comes through that brings us the PF we need or the PG we crave, fine. But last time I checked, the only viable and consistent option we had against Dallas WAS James. Give me a statement from TMac himself or even JVG about this and I'll totally eat my words, but weren't most of y'all the ones that I wanted to keep James BECAUSE he was the only offensive threat besides Yao and TMac? But like i said before, if James can get us the 4 or PG we need, then consider my above statements cease to exist.
This is funny. Could this be a manifestation of our collective subconscience? Who knows, but there's already too many signs pointing to a mike james departure. I do, however, appreciate his contribution to the team durring last year's run.
WTF does that have to do with anything? I COULD CARE LESS IF HE WON a Championship ring or not. that does not tell you anything about a player, your argument is pathetic. He is a loser. Such a loser that he got tossed out of a playoff game after getting mad at his own pathetic play. and with your stupid argument about championships and all, I couldnt call Mike Wilks a loser, just because he won one championship. James is a scrub and being a bench player on a winning team doesnt make him any better.
Is there anything in this world more overrated than "a guy who can create his own shot"? "Creating your own shot" is for cellar-dwelling teams that need to generate highlights and excitement in their respective cities. Creating shots for your teammates is what wins championships.
You know what, you're right. Being a sparkplug off the bench for a championship winning team deserves absolutely no respect and warrants an unfounded grudge to be held against him in an effort to pollute a board full of respectable posters and objective opinions. I guess you're being serious about holding it again James how he got thrown out of Game 7? God forbid a player show emotion and disgust with how we got absolutely run off the floor in a decisive Game 7---but I guess a loser would just laugh that off instead of getting tossed. ....and good example with Mike Wilks considering he was even on the playoff roster & all
That's sharp but so true! It's NBA, the highest level of professional basketball! Somehow people just have less and less expectation. Nowadays, it's a big deal if a player can run, stop, and pop a mid-range jump shot.
im not surprised remember when tmac brought the ball up the court and he waved off MJ and told him to move his butt up court. I think MJ's energy on defense is superb( I think it was the spark that helped us win game 5?) but his ballhogging was very disturbing i cant help thinking JVG must have noticed it as well. So long MJ welcome to Houston Head.
In all the pictures you see, at parties and such, it always seems like MJ is TMac's wingman. Unconditional love perhaps..
This is fake. TMac and Mike James are great friends. This is something the media likes to blow out of proportion. However, Mike James still has a chance at getting traded because of his value and contract situation.
The difference is that unlike Danny Ferry, Mike James was an important rotational player for the Pistons in their championship run. I'm pretty neutral with regard to James, and it's cool with me if you don't like him, but I think your use of the "loser" label, if taken quite literally, can be and has been validly challenged. A decent case can be made that Mike James, even if he's just a role player, has helped some of the teams he's been on, as opposed to, say, Stephon Marbury.
