i don't know if spanoulis will be good or be a complete scrub, but it seems if there was ever a time to get him, now was the right time. missing out on mike james ended any real chance at using our full MLE. since we have to dip into our mle to get van, we might as well do it in a year in which we'll be splitting it anyway. now next year if we want someone, we don't have to decide b/t them or keeping spanoulis over in europe another whole year before finding out what he can do. and if it is really only 3 yr/6M, that's a nice, small price to pay for finding out if he's good or not. if he sucks, we haven't lost anything and still have 3+ million to sign someone else this offseason. if he's any good, he's a bargain. now lets just hope it's true.
