Well of course they didn't say that they were going to eventually drop the price of the 80GB unit. The main reason behind this price drop is to get rid of the 60GB units that they have already shipped to retailers. If they come out and say that they are going to un-bundle the 80GB package and sell it at $499 once all of the 60GB's are gone, who would buy the 60GB right now? Saying that it is temporary if anything will speed up the process of getting rid of the 60GB stock because people will worry that once they are gone the only choice they have left is the 80GB at $100 more.
I'm interested in this gigantic and qualitatively game library you speak of. As most gamers know, 360 games are usually over-rated. This is why the same games get meh ratings on their PC counter-parts. Can you list me 10 games that are really good (not overrated) and not multi-platform? Another troll post by Rokkit who is desperate to post any Sony bad news to bring out his legion of uninformed Xbox fanboys to make a big ruckus out of something that potentially is nothing. Has anyone noticed that the E3 360 exclusive lineup is close to Nil? Halo is the only thing they seem to have going. Everything is multiplatform. It was cool to see the offical trailers for the soon and future games from Sony Drakes Fortune Killzone 2 Lair Metal Gear Solid Pain SingStar Warhawk NBA 08 Echochrome (Which imo is one of the coolest games at E3 but is being overlooked) Securing exclusivity of MGS was really big news. A lot of people have been clamoring for months about the "assured" loss. The new slimmer, slighter PSP was cool too. The smaller PS2 was a big hit with consumers so hopefully the change will help sales. The addition of a Audio/Video output is really nice as well. Home still looks really cool and I'm really looking forward to it. Turning Point, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Quake Wars, Unreal 3, Rock band, Star wars F.U., Soul Calibur 4, Call of Duty 4, Blacksite: Area 51, Burnout Paradise, Grand Theft Auto, Bros in Arms. Assassin's Creed,etc.: All these are multiplatform The few xbox exclusives I ran across did not have real trailers. Just off screen game footage. Ace Kombat looked a little stale. Bio Shock looked like it might be good. I'm sure there are some good ones (and one big PC/360 game I'm forgetting). At the end of the day, 30 extra frames a second in a couple multiplatform sports games aren't going to factor into the market with this difference in offerings. The consol news was a bit disapointing to. No price cut and the only real change was a promotional Halo Xbox. I love halo but that seems a bit too commercial. It's really nice to see the system with the "inferior library" really outclassing Microsoft. Call me a fanboy or whatever but I think Sony really shined at E3 this year. Unless they just live and breath Halo, I'm not sure many can really disagree.
name one for ps3? im sure it will have a few games by the end of the year but for now the library is beyond lame also Amazon took off the memento br movie and replaced it with RE Apocolypse I shouldn't have waited
MotorStorm hasn't really wowed people but I think it's pretty good. I think more people will realize how good it is when they get the Bundle. Fall of Man is of course very good. I don't think anyone can argue that Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a Killer Ap. I've had it for a week and it's the most fun I've had in a while. I am stuck at one part though. I've gotten up to 52 Ninjas killed in this one continuous battle but I haven't been able to make it any further. I can only hope I was close to passing that section. VF5 is great. It's multiplatform but if you are talking about whether the PS3 has a good library, I don't think that matters. I'll wait to send my props to the 360 though. I'm not confident the online multiplayer will be that enjoyable. Any lag in that game and the complexity that makes the game fantastic is ruined. Still, it's nice to be able to play with someone at any time. I digress... Need for Speed Carbon was actually a lot of fun. Not sure why it wasn't rated higher. They filmed the in game cinematics and then ran a really cool looking filter over all the footage. Oblivion was released. Stardust and Calling all Cars are more than worth the money 8 or so bucks. My point is that for the free time you have, I think there are enough games to keep you entertained.

Speaking of saying goodbye to the 60gb PS3.....I had mine stolen this week along with all my games and controllers. I let a friend of mine borrow it and his house was robbed. They took all of his TVs, a computer, stereo equipment, and my PS3. I feel bad for him because he got it worse than I did, but I'm still pissed that I got my PS3 taken. I spent too much money on the system. I've been a little stressed out over money right now, and having this happen to me makes me feel worse. The only way I can get it back is if it's found with my matching VIN#. I also had a 2 year warranty on it from BestBuy, but I doubt they replace theft. It sucks that I won't get to play anything that I saw on E3. I'm not gonna buy a new system, so I guess I'll also have to cancel that GTA:4 pre-order.

chow - c'mon man - are you delusional? "Most gamers?" WTF? I could make the same argument about the PS2 library. There is absolutely no argument right now that the 360 has by far the best library of the new consoles - cross-platform or not. That may change in 2 years. Right now the 360 is where the PS2 was last generation, and the PS3 stands in as the Xbox. The Wii is its own insane thing. I don't get the platform hate from peeps like you chow. I had a PS2 AND an Xbox before - they each had games & features I wanted. I now own a 360, and am waiting until Xmas to buy both a PS3, and an HD-DVD add-on for my 360. I could care less who makes the damn consoles. Relax man - do you owe some debt to Sony? Did they save your life once?
