I would like this, actually. He is unhappy in Detroit, his contract is up in 2010. I just don't think it's going to happen. Ron is the devil in Detroit and I tend to think that the Rockets will ride McGrady until this summer at least.

 

No way Dumars does this unless they somehow get rid of Iverson too.

 

Uh no. It is quite imaginable. With the emergence of Von Wafer, Ron is very expendable.

 

They're in no hurry to dump Iverson. His contract expires this year. That's why they got him. With that said, I'd do a T-Mac and Ron for Iverson and Hamilton trade in a heartbeat just to get Hamilton.

 

just a quick look at the salaries around the league allowed me to throw out some hypothetical 'gets' for Artest. i haven't tried them out in the Trade Machine yet, nor am i necessarily pushing for anything; rather, for the sake of discussion, given the topic of this thread, i'm throwing these out there::

1) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Rip Hamilton
2) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Wilson Chandler + Q-Rich
3) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Kirk Hinrich
4) Ron Artest + Aaron Brooks + Luther Head = Steve Nash
5) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Luke Ridnour + Charlie Villanueva
6) Ron Artest = Stephen Jackson + Marcus Laptop Williams
7) Ron Artest = Marcus Camby
8) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Mike Miller + Rodney Carney

 

rip would be amazing off the ball, efficiency galore. hinrich isn't bad too.

 

#1, unless dumas is out of his mind. and the security guards at auburn hill will be crazy about that trade.

#3, that may be - since chi-town drafted ron at the first place and luther played for il.

1 team I would really be intersted in dealing with is the bucks. The gm is from Detroit system and the coach is scott skiles. I said it this summer that a couple of players like Mo Williams was going to be given away for nothing.

Jefferson can be had especially since Redd is out for the season. He makes 12m so it will cost u more than just Artest. Artest,Hayes and Head for Jefferson and Elson would work. It also looks like Charlie V has come out of his slump offensively and is playing pretty good now.

 

Getting anyone besides Rick Hamilton is a downgrade to the team and we all know that Artest is never going back to Detroit.

Hinrich? Come on, I'll rather take Rafer Alston no matter how bad he is sometimes.

 

Then who are they happy with?

 

1) TMac + Luther Head = Rip and Prince
2) Ron + Dorsey = Steve Nash
3) Ron + Dorsey = Kirk Hinrich + Nocioni

 

the last two do not work, salary-wise. you're like $5 million off on both. plus, PHX is not gonna give up their franchise PG w/o getting at least one PG in return.

 

You get where I am heading with this topic. The Rockets should do anything to get something in return if they feel strongly about Ron, they should also trade TMac. The team needs a fresh start and I don't believe TMac will get healthy this season.
