I say B freakin S. What teh heck are we going to get for him? And as far as Von's recent playing, yeah sure who isnt loving it, but what about when he starts to get defended on a night in night out basis. Von's situation is like Landry's last year. We didnt expect this kind of play from him and its an added bonus, but now look at this year, as good as Landry has been too, he isnt getting the hype he got last year.
i doubt it. If No Layups said something about it I might think about it. How would the team look if you reward a player that has given his ankle, sweat and pride with a trade?
If the Lakers still want him, I would love to have ARIZA and another scrub maybe Mihm. I would rather keep Artest and trade Battier
Shut up and lock this thread, nothing is happening, and I don't believe anything until an actual rumor shows up---BS.
so you want to trade ron to the best team in our conference and make them significantly better...for trevor freaking ariza? brilliant. you deserve a sticker for this one.
I call BS. It just doesn't make common sense. The only teams that would give up something of value for Artest (knowing he can walk next year) are serious contenders, and why would we help one of them?
or maybe it was leaked to judge fan response. similar to what the team used to do with the DocRocket account here. i'm hoping for rip. makes sense for both teams.
I wouldnt mind if it was to get us a solid starting pg in return. I dont care if Rafer hit 10 3s for 10 games in a row, soon enuf, he'll go back to shooting in the 30s. The problem with Rafer is, we just cant go deep with him in the playoffs. Even if he gets hot for a period, lets say, 1st round, and we win, what are the chances of him keeping it for 4 straight series? And with Brooks up and down as well, if trading Ron + Rafer can get us a solid PG with no more than 2 years left ( '10 season for obvious reasons) Morey should be all over it.
I doubt a trade with Detroit will happen. I actually think the rumors in the offseason for Billups + Rip for TMAC + others, or any of the various combinations, was probably discussed. Why do I think that? First, cause it made sense kind of both teams. Detroit was looking to shake things up, and seeing as we are always injured or under achieving, we should have been also. 2nd, Billups actually was traded. And to a quite similar player to TMAC in Iverson. The problem is, Iverson plays the same position as Rip, and is a guard. I think Detroit would much rather have had TMAC for Billups +. Looks like Detroit settled for Iverson. As it is, Detroit probably wants a big guy for any of their guards, and we dont have any to offer.
I'm guessing one that doesn't involve Artest. It's really not that difficult to understand what the Rox are doing. If we can't resign him and we can get something that helps us long term, why not? Also, just because he is being shopped doesn't mean we're definitely trading him. There's a dozen or so players in the league that are truly "untouchable". Every team listens to offers about any of there players, doesn't necessarily mean something is happening. I definitely think the Rox are listening to offers, but I also think our asking price is pretty high as well.
Artest is like what Steven Jackson is to the Warriors. But hey if management feels like they gotta trade him I hope we can get Hedo Turkolou and Redick for him.
well on the 1560 interview that happened earlier Clutch said he has heard the Bobcats and Knicks as possible destinations and neither really makes sense so i think that throws more water on this rumor fire.
