Man I'd hate to have to see Varejao in Red every night or Birdman.
    Just say no to freaks.

If I lived in Denver, I'd just listen on the radio.

Sideshow Bob? Please no! Varejao is horrible and will never be a solid player in the NBA.

I'm not a huge Varejao fan myself, but I'd love to have the Birdman on the Rockets.

yeah, UCLA guy. he would be nuts to leave but i wont be mad if he does

quality bigs are hard to come by and i would've liked to see a young big who excels at rebounds and blocks... but gortat is still really unproven. morey may be right to be cautious.

the goal should be to get younger and maintain cap space for next year. a balanced roster isn't top priority for a rebuilding team.

I'm pretty confident that one of the three young bigs on our summer league roster could carry the load until Yao comes back, easily atleast one of these guys could fill the same Varejao, C. Andersen role of energy, rebounding, and defense.

If we are going to rebuild our rivals will be the Thunder and Kings, not the Lakers. If a Ariza for Artest S&T happens i won't be upset, its better than losing Artest for nothing.

but he already is a solid player at 9 and 7 with a block and a steal in 30 minutes.

it may be the only way to get something in return for ron. i would have the cavs throw in a first rounder of course, and you can always trade him later for something else. that's the idea, to maintain assets. losing a major one like ron with no return would be terrible.

If you asked me to give an example of a move that epitomized the antithesis of a Moreyball move, I would probably reply "giving Trevor Ariza the full MLE."

I'll wait and see what happens next before passing judgment.

It makes no sense at all, no sense at all.

Gortat may turn out to be a very good player, but his numbers aren't even mediocre. I realize he was behind Howard, but I think there is a little too much hype surrounding him. If he won't come for whatever Morey thinks is reasonable, then let's move on.

As for Ariza, I'm not sure what to make of him yet. I only saw him in the HOU/LAL series, and he looked pretty good. He's young, which goes along with our "re-tooling" strategy. I really think that Ron is gone, so I'm in no hurry to plan Battier's going away party. Ariza is definitely athletic. We may just turn into that run and gun team that was suppose to come with the signing of Rick Adleman.

    Brooks
    Von
    Ariza
    Scolandry
    Someone quicker than Yao

HOLY SPEED DEMONS!!!!!! Just a sample line-up. I'm not saying this is what our starting lineup should/would be.....but think how fast these guys would get up and down the court.

Gortat is a 25 year old big man who'll give you a double double every night with a couple of blocks thrown in. Yeah, I think he's worth the MLE. He should have been priority number one even if Yao hadn't gone down for the count.

this is a great signing if he does happen. he's only 24, and it helps with the rebuilding theme and go along with brooks and our other young guys.

he's a better fit than ron.

you know what im all for signing ariza just because he is younger and more athletic then artest... he would also be a perfect fit with yao and mcgrady if they return mid-season... morey isn't gonna get a star player in return for t-mac so there gonna let him rehab and let his contract run out... imagine if both yao and mac returned mid-season our line-up will be more balanced then ever...

you can easily have brooks, mcgrady, ariza, scola, and yao or have ariza come off the bench and start battier i think we will have a way better team then with artest... dont get me wrong i love artest but this team is better suited with ariza.... now we go after antonio mcdyess and a vet pg and were still a playoff team... in morey we trust... :D

2 Western Conference finals appearances a conference semi-final appearance and coming very close to the Finals? You make it sound like it's a bad thing to become the Phoenix Suns. Surely, we'd have better defense and toughness. Count me in.

Wow you sound like one enlightened individual....full of culture, no doubt.

So let me get this straight though, when you watch a basketball game, you are worried about physically eying the players? And whether they please you, visually? Interesting...
