Aruba77 is probably right but only because the top 10 teams and player agents all are trying to blow dense smoke up everybody's else's behind with rumors of trades and player evaluations. The fable of the three blind men describing an elephant comes to mind.
Just wondering, if the Rockets do move up to get Roy, and we sign James with the MLE, what do you think we should do with the 4.3 million trade exception. I heard several names, including Matt Harpring and Deshawn Stevenson might be available to aquire with that I think Harpring would be an good fit for the team, considering the shooting he could provide, but I also think the one thing that is missing from a team with James and Roy would be a solid defensive PF, preferably one who can shoot a little. Is anyone like that available? What are our options here? Roster w/ Harpring, Roy, James: c: Yao, Deke pf: JHo, Stro, Hayes sf: T-Mac, Harpring pg: James, Alston sg: Harpring, Roy (I think we start Harpring at the beginning of the year to bring Roy along, but Roy would be starting by the end of the season.}
This is how I'm hoping the draft makes out: 1. Raptors- Bargnani 2. Bulls- Thomas 3. Bobcats- Morrison 4. Blazers- Aldridge 5. Hawks- Roy * 6. TWolves- Gay 7. Celtics- Foye 8. Rockets- S. Williams * 9. Warriors- O'Bryant 10. Sonics- Simmons 11. Magic- Carney 12. Hornets- Brewer 13. Sixers- M. Williams 14. Jazz- JJ Redick
If the Hawk deal is indeed dead/bs, then I dn't put much faith in what draftexpress has to say since they were the main ones pumping this deal. They still have news up about us finalizing a deal with the Hawks.
Then I don't trust them either right about now. I will trust what I see on draft day. I think 95% of the stuff floating around is bs. Not trying to say the site is garbage. Just saying lot of smoke in the air. Ricky Williams sighting?
Last night, they said Rockets are "pursuing every avenue to get Brandon Roy". And a "deal with Atlanta is possible by giving up Luther Head." Not making that up Clutch.
cynics unite: isnt it entirely possible they are just picking up stories from elsewhere that are likely rumours, which may have been derived from "sources" like draftexpress? the houston journalistic scene (sports in particular) arent exactly renowned for their scoops. shutting up now
Yesterday on Insider, the newest mock draft had us trading for Roy with ATL. What did it say today for you guys to think its dead? I dont have insider....my friend who does showed me the newest mock draft.
I mean that's possible but I think they're much involved in the draft scene with the Rockets... they caught Roy the other day.
Oh I believe you, but I don't believe that's really reporting it rather than regurgitating it. Fox 26 reads the BBS like crazy, and that's not me speculating -- that's fact. I'm confident they either read it off this board (which got it off the express site) or they got it from the express site directly. Either way, they didn't add anything to it or confirm it. They did the same with the Portland-Darius Miles rumor the day they had the Brandon Roy workout interview, citing it as rumor. I was surprised they repeated it without anything to "report".
