The last thing they need is Luther Head. They already have Juan Dixon. I think we are taking on Miles contract.
If it involves moving Juwan Miles and Better still Randolph would be a trade I would do in a flash. Either of them are better for the team- sure the contract for Randolph is daunting- who would you have if you wanted to trade down the road Randolph/miles or Juwan Howard? Man i will be thrilled if Juwan is gone! Regarding T thomas- Did he not refuse a work out for Bobcats? How come the deal will be the Portland?
Whether the Portland deal is the one that goes through or not, I suppose there's no longer a shred of doubt that the Rockets are aggressively trying to trade up.
just on a second thought- Such a big move and Draft express is breaking the story? Givony is the Man if this is true- I will be a little sceptical - too good to believe!
if we got Miles along with the 4th pick...he will surely be our SF/PF who will match up with Dirks and other mobile PF...must improve his mid range though
This sounds so much better than trading for the 6th spot. In this draft 6-14 are pretty much all the same this year. I don't think it's possible, but if we can keep our pick and get the 4th pick in the draft, I would call it a very sucessful offseason. Maybe Swift and a future first round pick? With the 4th we could pick up one of the PF's that drop (Thomas, Bargnani, or Aldridge) or one of the SF's (Morrison or Gay), and with our own pick we could pick up a shooter in JJ. Yao/Deke Thomas/Howard TMac JJ/Bowen James
It may also indicate that Thomas' camp simply does not want him in Portland. I guess I have no problem with this swap but it closes the chapter and confirms we got zip for our MLE last year. I was hoping Stro could be traded away for a decent rotation player. We will have to trust the Rocket's judgement on Tyrus Thomas. I'm not sold on him at all. If he doesn't pan out, we will have blown our MLE last year AND a top 10 draft pick this year on nothing. If we are taking a player from the Blazers between Zach Randolph and Darius Miles, it would be Miles.

I think you're right. I read it as one deal. But it sounds as if the counter is Miles for Howard straight up. I do that in a second.
Juwan 6.4 million, Miles 7.8 Million. I think the Rockets have a trade exception that covers the difference. http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries.htm
