That is assuming we are even able to sign Mallet. He could very well get an offer that is too rich for our blood.
I don't think Mallett is going to really cash in. He was OK in only one start and is coming off an injury to a muscle that controls motion of his throwing shoulder/arm. More likely he'll settle for a smaller, short contract in an effort to prove himself so he can try to cash in on the next one. He's not a guy you look at and say "Oh, he's going to be a good starter". He's still a "he has potential and might be good, might as well kick the tires" kind of guy.

Savage has real potential -- I'd like to see him given a chance before we give up a considerable amount in a trade for a QB. It would require our first round pick and then some to get Foles. Then again, with Rick Smith's track record in the first round, maybe that's the best course of action.
