Haha, doesn't Van Exel play for the Lakers? They've got Kobe they don't need another SG. Cassell? Sammy has always been a Rocket. I think Rudy should play him together with Kenny this season. My point about Antoine Walker is that, why not have trade conversations with the Celts last week? I don't like Walker, but he is at least a tangible asset. When you are talking about trading away talent (Mobley) AND potential (Griffin/Boki) you'd better get SOMETHING OF VALUE back. Battie and Williams type players can be found every summer begging for someone's exception.

I'm listening to it right now and they are wondering what the hell is wrong w/ us parting w/ EG and Mobley. This would be a really pathetic trade. If this goes through, there definitely needs some firing in management for this crap trade!

I agree with this and with your last post. We should not let Nachbar go. He is showing promise. But if we could dump Mooch (despite a nice run last night that he gave) then I'm for it. IF the C's throw in their draft picks (I think the rumor is next year's 2nd and 2005's 1st rounder), then, the deal makes some sense.
ok the deal that includes nachbar absolutely sucks ass and i pray that it doesn't happen. griffin/mobley imo is still too much simply because cat is better than what we're getting back, but i could live with it. i'm not giving up nachbar to watch him blossum in boston just because eddie is a headcase.

If it's Moochie, it'd make sense. Mooch has negative trade value. You'll have to GIVE people something (i.e. Mobley) to take him. Mobley, EG and Moochie for Battie and Williams, and maybe a 1st rounder. I'll do it. But if it's Boki. . .
Look, if we want to get rid of Eddie so badly, JUST CUT HIM or TERMINATE HIS CONTRACT for conduct detrimental. Don't include other assets in a trade just to give Eddie away.
OK third time trying to post this let's see if it happens this time. This is a wierd (to put it mildly) trade, but I guess JVG is trying to mold his roster to fit his offensive gme plan where Steve and Yao are the center of the offense and everyone else works their game through them. Mobley's game is more of a create off the dribble type and to be honest I'm not real sure how he'll take to seeing his touches and shots go down. However, I don't see why all we can get for Cat, a guy who the Rocks apparently wanted to take first overall if they had the chance, and their starting 3 is an oversized 2 guard and an undersized 3rd string 4/5 who can block a shot once in a while. I just don't get it. If this trade happens I at least hope we don't throw in Boki. I still think he can become a decent player who will fit in with the "team first" mentality.
