this is so perfect. everyone says GOTTA TRADE OLADIPO FOR WHATEVER TRASH MIAMI WANTS. HE'S ONLY WANTS MIAMI! Sounds like a problem that doesn't matter? worst case, he walks and Miami has to renounce everyone and wastes a year of Butler's prime while wasting tons of assets on acquiring him in FA. More than they'd have to trade for him.
I’m sure oladipo has a market. There no doubt about that. What we need to know is exactly what does that market’s return consist of?
I mean do we really need to know that? Woj says there are offers on the tables with young players and FRP.
If Stone moves Vic for a 1st and a young asset like Precious or Duncan Robinson I'll submit my application to join the Stone Cutters. Outside of the upcoming draft, the guy has shown high levels of competency in his transactions.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do, we do! Who keeps Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps? We do, we do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do, we do! Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night? We do, we do!
They have 3 good young players to offer. They have picks. They have matching salary. They have Nate McMillan.
Nice! Like KZ more than Herro for our offense/defense in truth. Also warming up to @Nook trade idea with ATL for Bogdan + Okongwu + FRP. ATL: Knox, House, Burks, Exum NYK: Reddish, Dipo, BMac, Dunn HOU: Bogdan, Okongwu, Ntilikina + Mavs FRP + Hawks FRP
Man, I just believe in Wittus/Stone's squirrelly lawyer tactics. The creativity that our front office showed in the Wood/Tucker/Harden deals has me clicking refresh all damn day. I can't get any friggin work done. If we can maneuver Oladipo and Exum into some more picks and nice young pieces, I will be ecstatic. The ultimate joy would be seeing John Wall dumped. Get KPJ/Tate/Wood some shooters and let the fans have some fun watching the Rockets again.
I am really excited about a Possible trade with the hawks. the idea of getting Okungwu is awesome . someone posted an idea with exum where we get reddish and Dunn Nba trade machine isn’t letting me do it , but the salaries look right . not that I’ve actually watch olyeke play . Or really know his name but I’ve read nbadraft.net on him lol Adding another talented frontcourt player . Along with actually drafting a first rounder or two this year will be great . we already have a trio/ quad with some upside left in kpj , Tate , Wood , and kmj . maybe none of them are true 1’s . But maybe you get lucky and you get a mix of a few #2 or #3 guys then you have your number 1 draft choices this year and you add this guy who was a top 10 pick . adding reddish (tho I don’t like him as much is gravy) frankly I like Bogdan too . Him and Gordon next year , we could have a strong defensive starting unit and a great scoring bench. if wall can be moved / hurts himself then you can put Eric as a starter (just monitor his minutes ) Wall is an albatross , but we have assets to move him if we need to . Next year is one more year closer to the end too . 2 more years left ? And the 3rd is a team option right ?
#Truth Magic need wings and/or scorers so sub out Olynyk + Precious for Iggy and maybe Nunn (Herro would be slam dunk).
https://nypost.com/2021/03/23/only-way-knicks-would-trade-for-victor-oladipo-before-deadline/ The Post has learned if the Knicks pull the trigger on a Victor Oladipo trade, it would be with either a firm commitment he would re-sign as a free agent or an actual extension. The most the Knicks can offer Oladipo now is two years, $45 million, which he declined with the Pacers. The Rockets are seeking at least a first-round pick in return and the Knicks have the cap space to make a trade much easier, especially with the painless addition of banished Austin Rivers. The Knicks have a plethora of draft picks, including three in the coming draft. Knicks president Leon Rose has the team’s own first-rounder, Dallas’ first-rounder and Detroit’s second-rounder, which could be at No. 31. “I don’t think they want any more young players so their picks are in play,” one NBA official said. Knicks GM Scott Perry drafted Oladipo at No. 2 for the Magic in the 2013 draft and the Knicks believe he still has enough left in the tank to boost their chances in the future at age 28. “I think the Knicks still have to worry about his health, and the year on a new deal is a major issue,” one team executive said. The Knicks, who also have Dallas’ 2023 first-round pick, are hesitant to give up futures just for a rental.
It was not obvious then nor was it the plan, hence the blow out wins and all the positive media pieces encouraged by FO.
