I tried to look up his personal web site to see if he has announced any season ending surgery, but it looks like he doesn't have one.
As long as they get bombed by the East again we can all sleep well enough. If Tmac and Manu are really on the shelf it doesn't appear anyone has the chips to really challenge them in the West one would think. But then again look at Dallas-GSW a few year ago. Some teams maybe have enough talent and could cause some match-up problems (Port, NO, Denv, Phx), but it would be a long shot.
Looks like he's only out a few weeks. http://www.nba.com/2009/news/02/19/ginobili.injury.ap/index.html
Spurs' Ginobili out 2-3 weeks with injured right ankle Posted Feb 19 2009 7:38PM AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Manu Ginobili started the season dealing with an injury to one ankle. Now the San Antonio Spurs super-sub is sidelined because of the other one. Coach Gregg Popovich said Thursday before the Spurs played in Detroit that Ginobili is expected to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks. "It's a stress reaction, not a stress fracture, which is important," Popovich said. "If it had been a stress fracture, there's no way he could have been playing, and certainly not as well as he has been." Ginobili had X-rays, an MRI and a CT scan, and Popovich said the results were encouraging. "The new bone is already starting to lay down, which means the healing process is underway," he said. "We're thinking that it will be 2-3 more weeks from tonight." Ginobili had surgery on his left ankle last summer after the Olympics, forcing him to miss the first 12 games of the season. The current problem caused him to miss Tuesday's loss at New York. "We'll handle it the same way we did the last time," Popovich said. "Whoever we've got left is going to play. I can't tell you who will get which minutes -- I'm going to do it on the fly." Ginobili is the third-leading scorer for the Spurs, averaging 16.1 points. The Spurs (35-17) have lost two in a row, but still lead the Southwest Division. ------------------------------------------------ I need some medical help. Does it mean that if manu keeps playing now, his "stress reaction" will develop into "stress fracture"? If that's the case, Spurs' doctor found out manu's problem at the stage of "stress reaction", so he's out for few weeks. Rockets' doctor found out Yao's problem at the stage of "stress fracture", so he's out for few months. Is this assumptions correct?
I am a Rockets fans, Could you please give me a web site for the lakerfans. Because my classmates are Lakers fans thanks ~!!
"What did I previously tell you guys? It turned out to be right. That is why you guys don't listen to Spurs fans." I think that's what you meant to say. Class dismissed.
do you remember when Ron first came here he wanted to be the first one in the gym but Yao was already there? So he goes earlier and Yao see's this and doesnt like it (not like it like hate it but more like he wants to be the first one working out) so he comes earlier the next day.
Spurs should play fairly well with him being out. That being said though, we can always make up more ground with one of their stars out than not
