    4. Portland-Rudy Gay
    5. Atlanta-Shelden Williams
    6. Minnesota-Randy Foye
    7. Boston-Marcus Williams
    8. Houston-Brandon Roy

Interesting, not sure if moving up to 2 spots is worth giving up Head. ;)

Roy on the Rockets would be nice though. He is the most ready out of all the guards and can shoot the ball. He's got good size and is a good enough athlete. Gansey could maybe fill in for Luther coming off the bench.

Swap Adam and Gay. ATL did not give Shelden a guarantee but they will trade with another team to pick him up around 10 and i don't know what boston is thinking.

Keep Luther.. I would rather have luther and #8 than the #6.

Luther can be a solid ROLE player for us...

i'd trade luther for Roy any day of the week. PLus that gives us leeway of getting an undersized guard as his backup, Douby? Allan Ray? Guillermo Diaz?

I like luther but he will never be a full time starter, Roy on this team will be a devestating 3rd option, he plays so well without the ball and has solid defense.

At number 6 you're looking at drafting Aldridge, Morrison, Thomas, Bargnani, Roy, or Gay

I'd look long and hard at it, we are talking about adding a potential solid starter for years in some cases and borderline all stars in other cases out of that top six.

I'm wanting to draft Ronnie Brewer at 8 anyway so it isn't for me, but depending on what Rockets management really want, i think they'd do it.

I would do the deal if Roy or Gay were at 6. Roy is a can't miss prospect in my eyes. He got a ton of skills and can ball on both ends of the court. And Gay is so talented, I can't imagine him being less than a solid starter, and exactly the type of SF/PF combo that is becoming so popular around the league. Either of these guys would help our flexibility and allow us to put a lot of different lineups on the floor.

If Seattle's still selling their #10 pick, then I'd pick that up too. Roy/Gay + Brewer would be well worth Luther, #8, future first, cash and maybe our #32.

    No thanks.

I'm with you man. When I read the thread title and clicked, I was expecting to see the majority of the replies think this would be a steal of a deal.

Roy is a can't miss prospect. He's never going to be a superstar, but with his size, shooting, ballhandling ability, and especially intensity, he will be a SOLID starter in this league for many years. He's in that Cuttino Mobley echelon of guards.

Why would you not do this? Head was a steal at 24 and could be nice depth, but he'll never be a starter and is a tweener. He's expendable. How else are you going to get a 21 year old legit shooting guard?

If we pick Brandon Roy instead of LaMarcus Aldrige then I'll faint.

Funny how everybody here didn't want to lose meaningless games because of maintaining a "winner's mentality" but are now willing to trade a solid, young role player to move up 2 spots.

Erm what are you talking about. This place exploded when we won that Denver game. I'm guessing that at that point, tankers were compising 75% of the board or more.

It took this long for them to realize the advantage being at the 6 spot would give us. Not that anyone would own up to it. ;)

i would not only do this trade in a second but i actually think it's plausible and very fair for both sides. i guess it would only be done if roy is still on the board at #6. the only guy i want more would be morrison and i don't think he'll be there.

i like luther but like ronny said his position on this team is undetermined and i don't think giving him up for super-quality like roy is much of a gamble. particularly if we sign mike james, this team will look mighty solid in the backcourt. do it cd.

Yeah, considering 95% of the board was in favor of tanking and 95% of the replies in this thread are against the proposed deal...funny.

I would pick Roy, Gay, Bargnani, and maybe even Thomas over Aldridge. I just think they are better fits for our team.

i may be completely wrong but even if we had lost that game wouldn't we have been in a three way tie with boston and minnesota meaning potentially we would have had the 8th pick anyways?
