    you guys are forgetting that signing them back as free agents cost us draft picks next year

    no, the only way we lose picks is if we trade them and then sign them as free agents.

    that isnt such a bad deal since i doubt either player will be considered a type A free agent, plus we are in the top half of the draft, so we dont lose a 1st rounder. we'd lose a 2nd rounder i believe, and the other team would also get a compensation pick in the sandwich round.

    plus, if we trade them and resign them in the offseason, we'd bring back major league ready guys. those major league ready prospects far outweight 2nd round picks that will take 4 years to develop.

    well if we do trade them for quality prospects wouldn't that negate losing draft picks?

    yeah it would...i'm just saying that there is a cost to trading them then signing them back.
