But we still bring up Richard Jefferson too! Interesting move on the Nuggets part. They certainly needed help at the shooting guard spot, for the sake of Nuggets4 I hope it works out. It's funny, but anytime the Nuggets make a move I think of Nuggets4. When the Grizzlies make a move I immediately think of MemphisX and when the Bulls make moves I think of Kelly Dwyer. In each case, I consider how they feel about the move and hope that the move works out well for their sake. (Yeah! Even for MemphisX!)
This really made me laugh when I read it on the ESPN boards about the trade. [Yeah, a SG who shoots less than 40%. That's an upgrade? Defense? Attitude? You're playing fantasy league basketball while Ryan and I are wondering if we can get our money back on our season tickets. DS] Theres even this guy who keeps saying "Smith/Melo/Nene what a great future" Denver better hope somehow Iverson falls in their lap, they look like total trash otherwise, full of players who make too much and do too little.
The way I remember it, you promised KG to us in Chicago, Richard Jefferson to Houston, and sausages for all! You said you'd bring me sausages!
Hey Kelly, two questions for you since I brought sausages. 1.) What are your thoughts on the Bulls this off-season? 2.) Where the hell is that quote in your sig from?

1. I'm iffy, but I have to be enthused. I had to talk myself into the Wallace contract, up until the late afternoon before he agreed to terms with Chicago I thought that it was just a ruse by Pax/Tellem/Wallace to drive up Detroit's price and make them walk the walk after they talked the talk with the trades to clear up cap room for him. I'd like them to go after a low post scorer, but really, how many of those are out there? Shaq and Yao already have jobs. I hate giving up on Tyson, statistically he's miles ahead of where Wallace was at age 23, but they'll have big cap space next summer even with Wallace's giant deal and the contract extensions. The plan is, I guess, to shoot from the 6th to 1st-best team defensively in the league, and hope that the internal offensive growth (Hinrich/Gordon/Deng/Nocioni/etc all a year older will be enough to get to plain mediocre offensively. All in all, I'm enthused (especially with Tyrus Thomas able to grow behind the scenes), but I know Wallace's contract will be a B down the line. 2. The quote is from an Onion interview with Steely Dan from early 2001, sort of the ultimate non-sequiter. If you go to steelydan.com and look the Hall of Fame section, then it may make a little more sense, and then check the Onion's A/V club for the SD interview.
It makes sense. I've always been a big PJ Brown fan and think he'll score just enough to keep you guys somewhat balanced on offense. Main thing is keeping Ben motivated out there. IMO, he seemed to give up on the offensive aspect in the playoffs. He's never been a threat on offense, but when he's not even trying, he's just taking up space. As for the length of the contract, I agree the last year or two could be hard, but you guys signed him to a 4-year-deal which certainly helps alleviate that pain. Sweet. I love Steely Dan, so I'll have to check that out.
Title of the article below cracked me up: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...LYF?slug=ap-nuggets-jrsmith&prov=ap&type=lgns
Wow, the poor kid has no clue what is about to hit him. Should be entertaining for those outside of Denver.
Between reading this and Stephon Marbury's "I've gone from Gandhi to Malcolm X" quote, I think my IQ has dropped about 20 points today. I hate these internet tubes.
I've never seen so much optimism about a 31% three point shooter. I think he will eventually work out though, its definitely the best move Denver has done this offseason, still unless Dalllas really does trade for K-Mart this team has next to no chance to make the playoffs.
I don't think Nugs fans are optimistic we found the answer to all our problems. We are thrilled however that we got a potential player for next to nothing. It's not like he'll have to play hard (or even play) to match the numbers Howard Eisley put up for us.
If MSG dumps Frazier, I will never watch another one of their broadcasts ever again (even if Kenny Smith is doing them). I reckon even in his advanced (relatively speaking) age; Fraizer could still take Marbury apart . Tis sad to see a player as talented as Marbury waste his years away playing mediocre basketball. Then again, he's the only one to blame for his mercurial career so far. I was really hoping that Larry Brown would have an postive impact on his game as he did with AI & Billups and Isiah is the last person who should be coaching someone like Marbury.
Hilarious, yet only inasmuch as it is profoundly and utterly assinine. Methinks "Somebody" = The crazy voice in Marbury's head, you know, the same one that is contantly yelling "All Star!" and "M-V-P!" while he puts up 20 and 8 in a 40 point loss.
