Morey is an experiment gone wrong who knows nothing about basketball. Sabermetrics work in baseball because the game is evenly divided among it's 9 players, but in basketball, there's a lot more chemistry that doesn't show up in stats. Plus, by signing Dwight Howard, Morey essentially gave up on his sabermetrics and just paid top dollar for an aging star.

If he was smart, Miami can offer their MLE, yes it would cost then a lot more in a lot in luxury tax but it would be the ultimate FU to the pacers for the whole Bynum situation along with now Evan turner

This. Don't get why they're always in the market for guards/wings, when those positions are already crowded and their smalles problem.
Clippers really, really need a decent big or they're no contenders.

Does it even make sense for the 76ers to buyout Granger though? The 76ers is already slightly below the league minimum salary but they can avoid the fine and fix that by signing some cheapo free agent. If they buyout Granger the 76ers will fall below the league team minimum salary even more and if they want to avoid the fine they'll have to offset whatever savings they had by buying out Granger with signing a new free agent.

I haven't thought about it too hard, but I assume whatever the buyout amount is would count toward their payroll calculation. Assuming Granger gets most of his salary in the buyout, they should still surpass the minimum.

No, I think the 76ers are already below the minimum even with Granger's full salary. So with a buyout they'll have to sign a free agent or free agents for whatever amount they are currently below the minimum + whatever amount they've saved with the buyout if they want to avoid the fine

Hinkle would rather cop a fine and have a bad team, than sign a bunch of people who has something to prove and maybe win some basketball games, Hinkle is in full tank mode, not tank mode but do not waste money.

Hinkle was a GENIOUS yesterday, he made the trade of the day getting 2 draft picks for taking on maynors contract which has a player option next year, he basically made his salary cap space a rental home, easily the best future move of the day.

Lastly I wonder how Thad young is going, no hawes, no turner.

Lastly lastly now, does anyone think hawes was some type of mole or was told we will trade you to a really good team if you regress and make us drop a few games with your offensive game and not showing up on D and In turn we will trade you to a contender, and then Hinkle yesterday to pull the rug under him and trade him to the cavs.. He went from a 15 ppg 12rpg on 50 fg% 45% to 8/8 on terrible shooting and 0 D

He WAS scary good. At this point he is not athletic enough to be "scary good".
His defense is closer to what it was pre injury, against non athletic players at least.

He does ONE thing "well" at this point and that is catch and shoot open 3's. He cannot put the ball on the floor or create for himself or others at all.

Who let you out of "the home"?

I am sure they are looking for you... maybe show a nice officer your wristband and ask for help.

IMO, it would be best for Philly & Granger if they just stand pat. Granger can work his way back into shape getting legitimate playing time - try and salvage his career.

Philadelphia gets a scoring threat Carter-Williams can learn to play with.
