whether it's Ty or someone else, something's got to change. I think it's time to blow up some pieces.

    I wouldn't trade Ty.

What if Harden gets injured? Ty would be the only one who can create for others and is more than capable of doing so.

Harden better not get hurt - he's the only one keeping this team afloat (barely).

Ty hasn't played with a lot of consistency, but he runs the break well and keeps the ball moving well. He is clearly the best passer on the team and there are times where you can definitely notice his passing/decision making positively affecting an offensive possession. I think it's important to keep him as he is only going to improve in Rockets system going forward especially with Dmo back.

I have nothing against the dude personally but one or two decent games doesn't seem to indicate a sustained comfort level. He's a bad fit overall. Harden needs the ball in his hands to be effective, not quite Allen Iverson selfish, but he needs a specific sort of PG alongside him.

Sergio Llull would have been nice, but I won't linger there.

That deal with Brooklyn, or some iteration thereof, would perhaps do the trick.

Remember years and years ago when Deron Williams was looked at as a top tier PG? People looked at Chris Paul and Deron Williams as 1a and 1b of PGs. And then very quickly Williams play dropped off the cliff where he is an average to below average PG these days. Really a shocking drop in play.

Lawson's drop in play looks very similar. Just off the charts. Not even the same player. I mean right now Ish Smith would be a better option. I wish I was wrong, but I am not very optimistic that Lawson is going to regain his form. There is no fire and there is no confidence.

If harden gets hurt. Ben Simmons is on the way, with or without Lawson

Could the Rockets have better coaching? Yes. Could the Rockets run a better offensive system? Yes.

Have Harden and Lawson meshed? No. See above.

However, Lawson has been given chances to QB the team's second unit while Harden sits and Lawson has NOT taken the reigns. So, it doesn't even matter if Harden and Lawson can't mesh if Lawson can't break through QBing the team on his own.

I have seen plenty of times were I have yelled at the TV for Lawson to SHOOT the ball or DRIVE to the basket ala Harden. Take command! He never does. Just SUPER passive. That's all well and good early on, but he should have adjusted by now. Just play. He doesn't. :(

I wonder if harden kick Lebron in the nads again and hat to sit a game or two out if Lawson would play differently

Except Deron looks great this season for the Mavs. Of course.

Deron Williams was completely different. Injuries derailed his career. It wasn't that much of a shock if people followed him closely. His injuries took so much explosiveness out of his game and limited what he could do.

I assume you're talking about his defense?

    Don't trade him.

Give him the ball, set a screen then watch the wins pile up.

I was more alluding to the "mental aspect." The loss of fire. The stuff Paul Pierce alluded to. It is the same demeanor that Lawson shows. Just slightly lost and in a malaise.

This is true. Lawson is exhibiting zero leadership. Doesn't want to take anything away from Harden. Part of this is Lawson. Part of this is Harden. But it's mostly on Harden. Harden should throw the ball back and make Lawson run the play so Lawson knows that's what he's supposed to do. Doesn't happen. Harden gladly takes the rock and runs the play leaving Lawson in the corner.

This is why i know Harden isn't being genuine about sharing the basketball. Harden only wants to share the basketball when he's sitting on the bench or taking an occasional possession off when he needs a blow. Other than that...he wants the ball and takes the ball.

And Morey isn't going to do anything to jeopardize the relationship with Harden. Harden is his guy. He's got to cater to Harden...at least for another couple seasons to get Harden re-signed. So, we're just going to keep pilfering through players like Lawson and others in hopes of finding the magic combination to win a championship.

    #coaching

Deron Williams told us before he's more of a system player like what he ran in Utah for Sloan so whatever system Brooklyn ran (along with his injuries) didn't suit him as a player.

Now with Dallas where Carlisle calls the shots, Williams plays better.

LOL - hell no, not based on his defense. Purely his offensive contribution (minus turnovers). Defense and Harden don't belong in the same conversation, unless if you're presenting a study on black holes in remote galaxies.

this season is over. i'm not excited about competing for a final playoff spot only to lose in the 1st round. This is not a championship team; we are not championship contenders. It's time to blow it up and if that has to start with Ty...so be it. Just my opinion obviously.

He has no confident, his turnover frustrates me, attack the rim and get block.. especially when he can't hit his free throws at a high rate.. and you guys are not even talking about his defense.. even bigger point guards are posting him up..

    Wouldn't trade him.

I expected better, but even with his underwhelming performance, there are clearly still growing pains to work through here. Give him (and the coach) time to work things out.

I am secretly hoping George Karl gets fired and we can pick him up this offseason. He is the kind of offensive mind that can make all this work (IMO).
