If he can play both C and PF, then I think he could be a good fit for us. He may be a plan B, or he could be a piece of plan A that doesn't include Bosh.
Fortunately for him 10 to 20 rebounds just fall into his lap each game. Imagine what he could do if we teach him to box out. Better yet, try to imagine him with team mates who box out
I read somewhere he liked the NY lifestyle so the Nets where high on his list. I wouldn't mind him here as he fits Adelman's system perfectly and wouldn't cost the Max.
I think it would be smart of the second tier free agents to hang on and sign their deals after LeBron, Bosh, D-Wade, and to a lesser extent, Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire. If they wait, they can probably get a desperate team to sign them for more than they are worth rather than signing now for fair market value. One of the teams that has been eyeballing this free agent class is going to strike out on the big names. There aren't enough of them to go around and I have a feeling that at least one guy (probably Bosh or Johnson) will follow one of the other big names wherever they go. It will be then that guys like Rudy Gay and David Lee will be able to get the most money.
If things dont' work out in terms of signing Bosh. I wouldn't mind having Lee come over....he's one of the most efficient players in the league.
Lee will disappoint wherever he goes, dude is not that special. Rather have Scola and what we have at PF right now than Lee. He gives us nothing we don't have already, Amar'e or Bosh does.
He's an upgrade over Scola and could play some Center. Morey probably realizes that NY is really disrespecting Lee by basically wanting him to hang tight to see if they can get an upgrade and if not resign with us. A smart team would swoop in and treat Lee like he is their first choice while the Knicks are wining and dining Lebron and Bosh. I could easily see him on the Nets or Clips.
Lee will get a Max contract somewhere purely because of his numbers, some small market team will advertise this as their big move to become playoff contenders then find out the dude isn't really worth what he will get. We'll see.
How much do yall think Lee is worth? I don't think he's worth more than 10, maybe 12, a year. He'll probably get somewhere around 15. He had good numbers last year, but that's what happens to above average players on terrible teams.
Really dude, how come is it that while most people go to the Knicks their careers die while Lee made his career their.
So you'd pay Max for him? He's not a go to player like Amar'e or Bosh, just because he has put up those numbers, he's not. All I said is he gives us nothing we don't already have. A lot of players put up great numbers on bad teams...in fact look at every bad team and there is a player that puts up great numbers...SOMEONE on the team has to perform. Never said he was a bad player, just nothing special. He's definitely not a perennial all-star player like Bosh or Amare.
Not really, his offensive skillset is similar to Scola's. Perhaps Scola has a better mid range shot though. He can rebound...but we don't need rebounding, Scola is a good rebounder. Also Hill in his limited minutes proved if there is anything he can do, it's rebound the ball. Then we never know what to expect out of Patrick Patterson. Also...Yao Ming. At the 4 spot he brings nothing we don't already have.
I don't see any reason to pursue David Lee at all. However, I like the fact that the Rockets are included in nearly every free agent rumor. It indicates that Morey is being incredibly proactive and aggressive.
