I wouldn't sign up for the text list if I were you. They got me to sign up when i went to the rally here, and I was constantly bombarded with annoying texts from his campaign. Those texts were the only thing that for a moment made me consider NOT voting for Obama. I finally figured out how to unsubscribe.
Yeah, I figured this. There's energizing the base, and then there's spamming them to the point where they won't go to the polls. Ugh. I'm just going to keep posted rumors about Chet instead!
I guess they didn't want to be on the evening news tonight. Maybe they prefer that the first news stories have visuals of the candidates together. Hoping the news deadline was the last roadblock and we'll get the text any minute now.
It's not that many texts. I get less than one a week. It can be annoying if they come at an inconvenient time, but all texts are like that. I think the database they've collected is going to really come in handy on election day.
From Drudgereport.com... FLASH: Fri Aug 22 2008 17:52:03 ET /// KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reports a company in Kansas City, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material... MORE... Gill Studios, would not confirm information about the material. They would not deny it either. At least three sources close to the plant's operations reported the Obama-Bayh material was being produced...
Yeah sorry, that's all I was basing it on. I also got a text from a friend saying it was him, but he may have been looking at drudge as well.
I don't buy it. They've gone to incredible lengths to keep this secret. I don't see them putting the secret in the hands of a company that prints stickers.
Bayh might be the pick, but pretty sure that's not a clue. Take a look at the actual bumpersticker -- it looks like a third-grader designed that. There's no official O or any trademark used by Obama in the campaign. You can get Obama/whoever bumper stickers anywhere with third-party providers -- and that's what this appears to be.
Its funny to watch the InTrade prices live. Bayh jumped from the mid-teens to 35 back down to the 20's back up to 40. Biden went from the upper 50's to 40, back up and back down again. It's absurd how long he's dragging this out.
On first glance i just assumed the bumper sticker was made up by drudge. The same way you'll see ESPN put various players in their new team uniforms the moment their traded. Nowhere in the paragraph did it mention a bumper sticker. It simply said they're printing material and denying it. Didn't hear anything about them having the proof in their hands. Maybe i just interpreted it wrong.
I will stop texting you when you sign up. I got in the shower around 4:30 and as soon as I got wet I got a text so I jumped out to check it. It was my brother. The message was "Gotcha." Perfect timing.
Obama's got the kind of money that he could print up fake stickers for misdirection. Or it might be Bayh.
Ambinder points out that the bumper sticker (a) is ugly, and (b) doesn't have a union label. So it's fake.
Two things on Biden: 1. A bit silly: http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/08/fun_with_flightaware_whats_thi.php http://flightaware.com/live/flight/EJA863 A flight from Midway to New Castle, DE... to pick someone up? Who knows? No other flights from anywhere in and around Chicago to anywhere in and around Delaware... or vice versa. Just this charter. 2. More substantive: http://politicalwire.com/archives/2008/08/22/biden_family_gathers_in_delaware.html Biden Family Gathers in Delaware In anticipation of Sen. Barack Obama's announcement of a running mate, NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports that one of Sen. Joe Biden's sons was flown in a private plane from Maine to the Senator's home in Delaware on Wednesday. Biden is "gathering the clan." Another report said Biden has stopped talking to the media again. Jonathan Alter thinks it's Biden "for some of the very reasons that were thought to disqualify Biden."
