Just got off the phone with a friend of mine who runs a store down near Texas City and Mathis and another guy (Randy Hines) were just in the store and Mathis had a walking boot on and described his injury as "a reacuring injury".

Randy Hines went to Grambling and was the QB there but got drafted as a WR in the NFL and last played with the Ravens he will be working out for the Texans later today.

My friend is not doctor but he said Mathis was limping around pretty bad and while he was given no time table he did say Mathis looked upset and was in general "down in the dumps"

Not good news, we need to win this week and pray that everyone is back by next Sunday.

take it for what it is (a second hand story) but Mathis looks to be out a while if not the entire season

Unfortunate news but not too suprising IMO. Too bad the guy is this injury prone because when on the field, he is a pro-bowl talent.

It's not surprising that she got hurt again.

Mark and Andre said yesterday that he's probably done for the season.

i found it odd how vague they were being. "a serious lower leg injury"  and they also said they "found" it...sounded like it caught them by suprise. very strange

Well, s***. I thought he was going back to the pro bowl this year. Wynn did well last week and Jacoby is capable when he comes back. They need to get someone signed now. I hope we didn't miss out letting McCardell go to the Redskins.

McCardell wouldn't be our KR so we won't miss much, Mathis just isn't a good WR at this point. Also, Keenan has yet to have a reception this season so I don't think it's that big of a deal.

But man could we use our bye week right now. Hopefully Green and Jones can make it back this week, it seems that AJ will be out for at least another 2 weeks though.

McCardell just signed with the Redskins earlier this week.

I would have signed him for WR depth. Dexter Wynn is perfectly capable of KR & PR.

It took His Son's first coming 33 years to get the message out. He's only been in Tennessee for two seasons. Look what He accomplished in Austin in only three!

I remember Andre Ware saying at the beginning of the season that we should trade Mathis for a CB because Mathis has never played a full season. I thought he was crazy.

Man, I wish we would have now...

You would think God would be a Titans fan if his son was playing QB there.

Every Texans thread will get derailed at some point but I really did not expect this to happen so early on an injury report.
