I love how this board can get news before even before it gets public.

Looks like being frustrated about his situation with the Rockets might have contributed to this?

could be. hes a good professional, but i don't think he knows what buisness means after the sweet year with jvg. most players would say, oh its just buisness, but rafer sounds disapointed in the interview after the stevie signing. maybe he heard some close rumors about him going soon. or maybe he just read this board.

Look, the guy has had issues in the past, on and off the court. He's always struck me as the type of guy who doesn't handle stress too well. As long as things are going well, he's fine, but he seems to not respond too well to adversity or when he doesn't get his way.

Either way, I hope for at least the sake of the Rockets that he's cleared of most of this and then gets traded for some cap relief or future picks or something...if that even.

I agree, it kind of showed in that JVG had to baby him along or he'd lose confidence in himself. I dunno what to expect from him this year.

I am guessing you can edit out the "Rumor" part in the thread title, or say "Confirmed" or something.

Even getting Doleac will be hard now,not that I want him. I wouldn't be surprised if Skip isn't depressed or has alcohol abuse/ dependence which would require rehab and treatment for depression.

Quit hating on Rafer. He suffers from Asperger Syndrome, which is why JVG spoon-fed him more than he usually treats his players. He's a good guy, quality backup pg. This is not a funny matter.

I didn't know about that until I read it on this board last year. It's one of the reasons I wanted the guy to succeed so badly. Ah well, good luck Rafer. Hopefully something like this doesn't happen anymore.

Just in case people dont know what Asperger syndrome is....

Asperger syndrome (also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's disorder, Aspergers, or AS) is a condition on the autistic spectrum. It manifests in individual ways and can have both positive and negative effects on a person's life. [1][2][3][4][5][6] Like other autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger's includes repetitive behavior patterns and impairment in social interaction. However, Asperger's differs from 'classic' autism in that non-social aspects of intellectual development generally proceed at a normal or accelerated rate.[7]

The disorder affects people in various ways, but individuals with Asperger's commonly share characteristics such as an ability to focus intensely on areas of interest, hyposensitivity/hypersensitivity to certain stimuli and sensory integration problems, self-stimulating ('stimming') behaviors such as rocking back and forth or verbal utterances, and difficulty interpreting facial expressions and other social cues.[7] Some positive characteristics include things such as enhanced mental focus, excellent memory abilities, superior spatial skills, and an intuitive understanding of logical systems. These characteristics can often lead to fulfilling careers in mathematics, engineering, the sciences,[2][3][4], music, art, or language.[8]

There is significant controversy over the difference between AS and the broader category of high-functioning autism (HFA). While neither AS nor HFA have universally accepted definitions,[9] most diagnostic manuals distinguish the two according to speech development. Delayed speech indicates HFA; normal onset of speech indicates Asperger's.[7] However, at least one diagnostic guide takes the opposite position; that delayed onset of speech favors a diagnosis of AS.[10]

Some clinicians deny that AS is differentiated from other autistic spectrum disorders at all.[weasel words] Instead they refer to Asperger's as HFA, or treat the diagnoses interchangeably, arguing that language delay is a difference in degree and not kind.[11][5] Various tests have shown no significant difference between patients diagnosed with AS and those diagnosed with HFA.[12] Even among those who feel that the differences between AS and HFA are significant, it is common for diagnoses to be influenced by non-technical issues, such as availability of government benefits for one condition but not the other.[13][14] Due to the mixed nature of its effects, and continued debate over its definition, Asperger's remains controversial among researchers, clinicians, and people with the diagnosis.
