Hmm, Detroit seems like they'll have another dimension to their team now. Billups was a good scorer and a clutch one at that, plus he was a good point guard in the traditional sense of the word. Iverson, however, is an elite scorer and puts a lot more pressure on defenses. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pistons play a bit better, but I'm not bracing myself for it. If they do improve, it will be marginal...Iverson isn't that much better than Billups at this point, and there isn't any chemistry between that team and him yet. Denver, on the other hand, will be more organized now that they actually have a real PG. I think they won this deal in terms of improvement THIS season. Now, Melo can go back to being the numero uno scorer and Billups will do his thing. At the very least, I don't think any of the two teams are worse off after this trade.
yes, because allen iverson who carried his philly squad to the championship and lost to shaq and kobe has never ever ever done anything in this league
Guess what? Its not about blind hatred either? To say things like "McGrady should stay on the bench", or "this team is better without McGrady" or to constantly call him Twac or McQueen or whatever else is just plain ****ing stupid. I am in no way saying McGrady is the best player in the league, but he is the best we got and yes he has his faults and no he is not Kobe, but we would be lottery bound without him.
I guess if Cleveland traded LeBron James to New Orleans for James Posey, New Orleans would win that deal.
If that's not a definition of a troll, then I don't know what is. Just because he follows the Rockets doesn't mean we'll make an exception for him. Honestly I'm embarrassed as a fellow Rockets fan with a wingnut like him repping the Rockets too.
Desperate moves on Denver part, since it's sliding out of the race in the East. However, as good as AI, the trade still won't address their pressing issue, age. Denver is just determined to rebuild. I wonder if we would entertain a deal like that? Luther+Shane+Francis+Hayes+Wafer for AI and exception?
This isn't just about liking and not liking a player. His posts bring nothing to the discussion and is full of hatred for a Rockets player that has done a lot for this team. I'm sure his "0-7 NUFF SAID" does a lot for the sake of T-Mac debates. Hell, there are people on here that don't like Yao. I don't have a problem with them. You know why? They don't derail threads with senseless Yao-hating remarks. You've already "violated a rule" by crapping all over this thread with your T-Mac hate. Classic thread derailment. Yeah, Flip Murray was better than him because his FG% was higher. Nice argument. This is why we can't stand you guys. You flat out ignore the other things he brings to the table and focus on stats that make him look bad. Another guy said T-Mac isn't much better of a facilitator than Kobe because his assist numbers weren't that much higher than Koke's.
On espn the other night they were talking about how the Pistons were recommiting to being dominant ont he defensive end and then they go out and get Iverson. I don't get it,but now Karl who has been crying about the Nuggets not playing defense have two players to buy into what he wants.
Their defense is still terrible and Billups doesn't address that either. Lakers Hornets Rockets Jazz Spurs Mavs Suns Blazers You think Denver can finish the season with a better record than any of these 8 teams? I just can't see it.
I said he was a good playmaker. I was only commenting on my concern for his shooting percentages. I mentioned the stats that showed him to be the best wing passer in the NBA.
I'm just saaaaaaayin... I don't think either team is going to win a championship though. Detroit will get far with that squad and Denver will get beaten by the top west powers. I'm not talking about which player is better. This is about leadership in the clutch, and taking your team to the next level. Something AI hasn't done in Denver so far. EDIT: Alright I changed my mind, this trade is way better for Detroit, but neither of them is going to win a championship.
omfg, i am so sick of people including Portland. They suck! Greg Oden is a bust! They will NOT make the playoffs
Ask any player and they would say a ring has more prestige then HOF championships are the ultimate STFU argument enders amongst players
