If you can show some other evidence of Allen not being clutch besides them making him take that one shot from 30+ feet out, maybe it'll have a little legitimacy...

I agree. Allen has Laverne and Shirley for neighbors, while Houston lives next door to Seinfeld.

Seriously, Houston has better form on his shots, handles the ball better, and can create on the blocks.

Would this be the same committee that selected Baker, Hardaway, Kidd, and Smith...but neglected to invite Webber?

Carter may play SF in Toronto, but he can easily play SG.

I watch both of them a lot, and actually I'd give Allen an edge in all three of those categories. Guess we just have to agree to disagree here.

Also, keep in mind that when the committee decided on these players about 1.5 years ago, Webber wasn't nearly as highly regarded as he is now. His character was also a huge issue back then.

I don't think anyone above has mentioned the real reason for this debacle...

    Larry ____-ing Brown

Every time I saw a shot of the huddle the mfah wouldn't shut up and let Rudy say anything. He was down on all fours in his "I'm gonna simultaneously berate you and blow you all" posture that we've all come to know and love. Note to Larry...you're not the head coach!

To denounce Ray Allen's game is ridiculous and to say he's wrong to criticize the coaching staff in that situation is foolish.

The only cure for this coaching breakdown would have been for Rudy to punk Brown and sit his ass down which we all know Rudy is too classy to do at the Olympics.

Allen can take (and make) as many shots in crucial situations, but until he contributes those kinds of shots to a championship effort, Cassell will be the leader of that team.

Okay, you're not confusing Ray-"he got some game"-Allen for Allan-"whose shot is so sweet, everytime he shoots, hummingbirds sing"-Houston, right?

    An honest mistake, I suppose.

So will Mario Elie be the leader in Phoenix over Kidd? He has two more rings...

Allen would crush Houston any day. Even has a good chance at beating him in shooting as well. Allen shot 43% on these long distance shots Houston was supposed to be so much better at. Houston shot 44% also on about 125 less attempts.

    This is too funny.

    Re-tract those claws, Cat.

But since we've already gone down that road, Allen doesn't belong on the same court, runway, or deserted island with Houston...not that there's anything wrong with that.

So...... How about them Rockets? Man I never thought talking bad about Ray Allen would be a big deal. I don't care for him, plain and simple. Starting Monday/Tuesday its all about getting hyped up for the Rockets!!! Bring on b-ball!!! Stevie Franchise, Cat, Shandon, Mooch, Walt, Bull, Langhi, Mo-T, KT, Los, Cato, Collier and last but definitely not least Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon. Lets get ready to rumble!!!

wow alot of posts for a simple comment from a good player. Damn he was just speaking the truth. If you were playing and didnt know if you if you should be in especially crunch time, you'd be vocal about it too. THe coaching staff hopefully will learn from this and never let it happen again. By the way R.allen ahs alot more game than allan houston. Houston will never be more than a complementary player.

I'll give it to Allan Houston that he has a sweeter looking stroke then Ray Allen, but Ray Allen still makes a VERY healthy % of his 3's. And Ray has much better handles then Houston, oh, AND Ray plays D.

Of course UB is well entitled to his opinion, it's just a bit crazy!@

I dont think anyone here can appreciate me saying this more that Cat...

But Allen is indeed the cog that makes the Bucks go. He is talented. I would take him over Houston anyday. And to dog his game shows how little anyone has actually watched the guy play.

Im not saying that Cassell isnt a good baller. But there is a reason the dude has been traded several times. until last season he was a point guard who didnt play the point position very well at all.

Eeek. Agreeing with the Cat almost hurts.

I can tell you guys actually watch basketball! I am a die hard Rocket fan...bleed RED and Blue and since it is RETRO, a little gold too! However as a basketball fan, Allen has got major skills! I love Sam and Mobley, and like Houston's shot, but Ray Allen is the most complete player of all of them at this time. He jsut doesn't get as much exposure to you guys as the others do.
his jumper is sweet, and if you think he can't dunk ask the kid on the college select team that was serve a basketball down his thoat a couple of months ago!

Houston can create space off the dribble, shoot with a defender in his face, and get his shot off without screens. Ray Allen............cannot.

If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Houston.
