they keep that play up their sleeve for last shot situations. if they play it (regularly) during a game, the players will "learn" how to defend it properly/well. they will end up denying us the good look steve always gets on the play... or at tleast that's why i think they do
I've heard the same thing, in that Jackson is similar to Rudy, but at least understands the x's and o's that Tex Winter comes up with. It's been suggested (on 610 radio) that Rudy should get a coach (hire a new assistant) that would be in charge of designing new plays. Kinda like Phil has a specialist coach (Tex) for the plays, Rudy should too.
I hope they have a backup plan if that play breaks down and the guard goes over the pick instead of under.
I was kidding around,,but the play is a good one . There is no need to limit use of the play until someone stops it..then Rudy develops a counter play and it goes on and on. I believe we will be seeing a lot of plays with Yao setting picks that are just as sucessful.. even better than the ones set by Utah. Yao Ming sets a mean pick.
Yao is getting plenty of shots....he is just NOT making them. The rookie wall seems to have hit Yao...but hopefully he will be able to scale it soon....and not take too long.
