Well Gater it looks like you have missed the meaning of my earlier post as well. I have already clearly stated who I think the better coach is, but I also looked at their situations from an objectionable point of view. I am also not sure what you mean if you don't think I don't know what Phil did with the Bulls. The way you're making it sound is that Michael Jordan didn't even need Phil at all and was winning titles, but Mike has stated on numerous occasions that Phil was a very integral part in winning the championships. So I know this might seem a little off topic from the thread, but what I'm trying to state is that Rudy is the better coach but Phil has enjoyed more success as a coach, even though he had nothing to do with building those teams.

    I agree.

As a Rockets fan, I get real defensive about this issue just as I do about a championship with an *asterisk* because the Rocks won when MJ was playing baseball.

I have not personally checked, but a friend who is pretty reliable mentioned that even when the Bulls were winning the championships, the Rocks dominated them during the regular season. Unfortunately, the Rockets just could not get out of the Western Conference for a showdown.

This should explain my sensitivity to this and related Rockets - Bulls issues.

Before MJ came back with a vengeance and won 72 games, the Bulls had not won a game in the Summit for over 8 years. Too bad we didn't make it to the finals sooner.
