It's only goal tending if it is a shot. No chance to go in = no goal tending.

hey shouldgetlost, don't try to make it look like we're bashing you because you have a differing opinion. You're opinion is fine. It's the way you go about stating you're opinion. Some examples:

WE drafted TWO matt bullards.

We needed a complete team overhaul

To someone who is enthused and excited about the Rockets draft, these type of statements aren't going to sit very well. Especially since you have no clue how it's all going to workout. Instead, try saying something like this: "I think we drafted two guys who aren't going to be able to do much else at the NBA level but shoot 3's. Kind of like Matt Bullard. But who knows, maybe they'll prove me wrong." Now that is a perfectly acceptable criticism.

Or try saying: "If this team doesn't improve next year, the Rockets should seriously look at the entire team and decide who should stay and who should go. Because if they still can't improve there's definitely something wrong and noone on the team should be safe." That would have been another acceptable comment.

Buy your unfounded negativity just isn't going to work in a group of excited Rockets fans. I feel sorry for you though. You're not enjoying this as much as the rest of us.

Ming will play the post. If they draft Ming just simply to shoot from the outside then there is no reason to draft a 7-5 300lb center with ability. He has a developing hook shot which if effective will be unstopable. In previous posts I have made the comparison of Ming and Dream. Both guys aren't physical monsters but they do have the offensive and defensive ability. To think Ming won't succeed in the NBA simply because of his upper body conditioning is stupid. There are many Hall Of Fame centers that were skiny and a bit thin but they got the job done. Just cause Ming isn't going to break the glass on Shaq doesn't mean he isn't going to dominate. As for Odom.... the idea that we will succeed via subtration rather than addition is r****ded. We would be handing over our future over to a crackhead. And Candiman? Underachiever at best at the 5 with average ability. Woods? What were his off court problems again?..... but I did like Amare but he wouldn't get much playing time unless you do away with the reserves Mo T, KT. I don't know but Ming at the 5 rather Olawakandi is more intrigueing. But why be so pigheaded about the entire thing? Houston got Ming and Nachbar. Why continue to argue when theres nothing to argue about? The draft is over and its time to talk about next season.

That was the word that spread on Woods. It wasn't so much the drugs although it didn't help and he did pass a drug test and swore he's over that. It was his attitude that made him drop and drop. Pure talent bad attitude. Not easily coachable. That was the skinny on him and that's why most teams laid off. Plus he was very raw and even with a great attitude he was still going to be a project. He could turn it around and be the steal of the draft but for my money Nachbar was the real deal and may turn out to be every bit as good as Dunleavy. personally I thought Butler was the only SF definitely better than him.

Interesting side note the scoop is butler should have gone 8th but the clippers screwed that deal up. LA was desperately trying to get Miller from cleveland and was offering the 8 & 12 plus maggete. The cavs insisted on Miles so no deal. But when Butler they got on the phones an called LA and said okay will do it just draft Butler for us but theey were too late LA had just called in their pick of Wilcox. So then LA got on the phone and called Phoenix who would have done a deal Wilcox for their pick but they had also already made the call for Amare. So then LA calls Riley and begs for the pick and Riley says nope we want Butler. So then they picked Ely thinking they might still have to move Wilcox to get Miller. But as now nothing is in the works. Funny stuff LA got stuck with Ely and Wilcoxand Cleveland got stuck with Miller and Wagner.

shouldgetridofya-

Just to add my voice to the multitudes, and to really try to drive the point home, it's not what you're saying, it's how you're saying it. In fact, you are remarkably similar to TB in this. You say terribly lame stuff in a very lame way. Then when you're called on it you get defensive and obnoxious.

It's a litle bit what he's saying too. But part of it is we acknowledge him and he gets off on that.

Oh, and Yao isn't from Europe. So the Peja comparison sucks in more ways than one.

TroyBarros kisses ass and then says goodbye to go on vacation.

Steps in Shouldgetodom .. who liked Ming before the draft. but now hates the pick as much as TB ...

Body Snatchers ... is what I figure

Hopefully he will go away "on vacation" soon enough.

Interesting post made by Shouldgetodom on another thread. Looks like he compared todays Rockets with the addition of Rashard Lewis to the championship team and then claims he's good. I see Mings name next to Olajuwon??? What are you saying Shouldgetodom?? I guess the guy can't figure out who he likes. Here is his post:

lets trade moochie+thomas for rashard lewis

ming = olajuwon
griffin = thorpe
taylor= herrera
lewis = horry
nachbar= elie
mobley = maxwell
francis = cassell
maddox = kenny smith
rudy = rudy

Am I good or what?

I think people weren't mad at Troy for disagreeing, but for starting and/or spreading rumors which didn't pan out. People bashed Steve based heavily on Troy's rumor, and now Francis instead of bolting from the team says he's thankful to have Ming.

People can disagree all day long, and often do on these boards, but when they spread rumors and then say that everyone will be bowing down to them when the rumors come true etc. No wonder people get a thrill of laughing at the guy when their is no follow up on the rumor.

I don't mind you stating your dissenting opinion, but it doesn't help your argument when you call on Troy Barros for backup.

What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Dude, I'd break this down one by one, but it'd just be a waste of server space. But hey, at least you got one right.

Rudy draws up plays?

Seriously, I thought the extent of the Rockets' playbook consisted of Steve and Cat isos, Moochie dribbling until his arm falls off, and random frontcourt guys standing behind the arc to take ill-advised threes.

;), I think ...

I'm glad we went away from the norm.
There's a reason Europeans like Boki are getting picked highly these days, and the main one is basketball skill.

I thought we addressed a couple issues with Nachbar and Nachbar.
-Nachbar brings an offensive threat that this team knows nothing off.....shooting.
Doesn't hurt that he also has the ability to drive the lane as well as known to be an aggressive player.

-Ming is a project
He's no Hakeem, but he sure as hell is just as far away from Bradley. A front court of him and Griffin helps this team much more than another athletic perimeter player with not so good defense like Odom.

On a side note.........you do know the "Dream Team" was a shot away from losing to Lithuania.......as well as not looking so good against a couple other teams.

Phoenix didn't call in their selection already.

They didn't want Wilcox over Amare , Stoudemire was their #1 choice all along.
