he said he has to relax after watching a rockets game because it makes him want to coach again.......lol he loves this team
He said everytime he saw the current team play he got exicited and wanted to coach them but not really that he wanted to coach them seriously.
Maybe as assistant coach?? I dont think his health conditions would allow to let him be a head coach again (unfortunately..)
Can Rudy run for mayor? Governor? I need him to be doing something. Its a slap in the face he wasn't appointed as the permanent Olympic basketball coach.
If you'd like to read some of the more interesting quotes, I transcribed most of those here: http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1549/rudy_t_reflects_on_rockets/
That was a great interview. It was nice to hear him give props to our young guys, Brooks and Lowr...oh sorry I meant Landry. Interesting to hear him talk about Shandon Anderson and Scottie Pippin, about the difficulty of making the adjustment of playing in one system and going into another. How demanding the triangle offense can be for a player to run, and how different it is from other offensive systems. Kind of made me think about our current favorite whipping boy, Trevor Ariza, and the adjustments he has to be making.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Shandon and Pippen both got so frustrated that they were miserable here- especially Pippen, coming from the triangle. I wonder if that will end up being the fate of Ariza. Does the triangle ruin swingmen from being able to fit into other systems? I can't think of any guys from the Bulls or Lakers that have gone elsewhere and really succeeded, though there is a very small sample to study.
Well, Pippen obviously didn't develop that trust with Rudy in Houston, but he did find relative success with Dunleavy in Portland. So the transition is possible. I'm guessing there is a difficulty making a radical change after being in demanding but highly successful systems like those in Utah and LA. From what I get from Rudy T's interview, the change is also mental, a willingness to trust the new system and the new role. I do think the Anderson/Ariza comparison is fitting. Even what Rudy says about Anderson - how they got him for his defense but were surprised by how effective he was in the offense - is similar to what Morey said about Ariza early in the season. But I'm not ready to say the results will be the same.
Tinman, Signature material for you buddy, "I finally got a chance to talk to Michael Jordan years [later] over at Barkley's house and he thought that the best matchup they would have had during that era was against us because of the way Max used to play him and how our big guys used to dominate their inside. - Rudy T.

Aw man, thanks a lot. That's some real memorable stuff right there. Can you picture any other coach having a great love for the city, love and a good relationship with the players (even the ones he didn't treat too well / had problems with later) love for the organisation and after watching his old team still wanting to coach ? I am wondering if Leslie and the organisation also give Rudy T the respect he deserves. Does any1 know if their fallout in 2003 went A-okay and it's all good between Rudy and Leslie (organisation) ? That lock commercial is I'm sorry to say but downright terrible. The accent alone is the worst I've ever heard and his facial expressions, which are limited due to plastic surgery (shame) kind of fit but makes it unreal at the same time. It's so bad that it's funny
