    I don't consider it denigrating Rudy T to say he didn't run or invent the offense that DAntoni runs or Morey favors.

    Rudy T. is a no brainer Hall of Famer for his college career at Michigan, his playing career after recovering from that crazy injury, and then winning two titles as a coach in a cursed sports town that hasn't won any thing before or since. You can argue about who invented what, but these are the facts and they are indisputable.

    They are also facts that aren't being disputed in this thread. :)

    Everyone here (I assume) agrees that Rudy was a great coach.

    Pete Carril's Princeton offense at Princeton also had the 3 or layup philosophy too. Those offenses depended on a strong high-post passing center so the lane was clear.

    Carril's offense, however, also believed in slowing down the game and pace.
