He's hardly the same person. Are you the same person you were twenty years ago? Its not unusual for people to make mucho mistakes when they're young.

He doesn't seem to be having too much of a problem adjusting to the offense in Toronto. And so what if he did want the O to come through him? That doesn't make him classless, it makes him normal for a superstar. Bottom line is that the Rockets didn't want Hakeem, so stop whining like Rudy is your b****.

THe point is not that he's lighting it up. The point is that he is comfortable not being the go to guy, as long as he is given attention. Hakeem didnt leave because he was not going to be the main focus of the offense. He left because he did not feel wanted or appreciated. If he really wanted to be the main man, why did he go to toronto, a team with a bigger, arguably better superstar than houston? He knew he wasnt gonna be the "man" in toronto, but at least he knew that the coaches and owners wanted him over there.

That's just not true. He said that he was unhappy with his role in Houston and wasn't being used enough.

Guess what, he's got less of a role in Toronto. Fewer minutes, fewer shots.

Dream couldn't handle not being the man in Houston. Toronto is different, because he never was the man there. I think it's a case of his former glory getting in the way of his current status.

Some of you Hakeem supporters need to get a clue.

    What he said was classless.

He was the one who wanted to leave.

I miss what the Hakeem of old used to bring to the team, but I'm glad the old Hakeem is gone. I really think it was a good move for him - he just couldn't take not being the man on what used to be his team. No one on the Raps is going to consider him the man, inluding Hakeem, so he can do something he should still be capable of: being a role player.

    blah blah blah

Quotes and links please. If this is true, and he said this in the first half of the season last year, it makes plenty of sense. He didn't mean he wanted to be "the man", he simply wanted to play, which he wasn't doing at that point. All of his recent comments fly in the face of your assertion that he wanted to be "the man".

He would have played more during the beginning of last season if he had simply tried (ie: not getting blocked by the rim and/or abused by the likes of Rasho Nesterovic).

Performance on the court dictated playing time as opposed to precedence last season.

Carlos Rogers was injured all the time, which weakens your point, and more relative to the argument, had a bad work ethic.

    Sound familiar?

i disagree...the rocks did not try hard enough... they thought it was time to usher the new era in...all they had to do was run a big public display of we want hakeem to finish career in houston and play him 25-30 minutes including the 4th quarter and all would be well...now we got neither...and the rocks are losing like it's 83-84.

this guard driven offense is good but when u can't hit s*** from anywhere...the post is where the ball belongs stevie or no stevie...
