so when the rockets trot out an offense that looks remarkably similar to the one you saw last year, is that when you think rudy has worn out his welcome? come on man, have some balls!! when does the pass end? also, how can you believe that we'll have this new offense anyway? didn't he say (this past preseason) that we'd have a new, movement oriented offense this season? what ever happened to that? i imagine you won't answer that question, but i thought i'd throw it out there anyway...
We had just won 5 in a row; everyone was feeling it, then the worst thing that could happen... Rudy is diagnosed with cancer. It may come to a shock to you, but each and every player on the Rockets are human. For some strange reason humans have feelings. When you find out that someone close to you has cancer, it gets to you. I doubt we would have done as poorly with Rudy, and I think we would have played well enough to beat Seattle. Yes, I know it is just another excuse, but there is only one team at the end of the season with out one.
So it takes balls to agree with you? Clearly, I am as disappointed in this season as anyone else. I'm just not ready to heap the blame on Rudy. I think as Yao progresses you will see an offense more similar to our post offense of the 90's which happens to be Rudy's strength.
good lord. read the first post, please. or read my signature, please. answer the question, please. please. please. please. oops, i slipped into a james brown moment... have the balls to answer the question. it's not about agreeing with me. it's a matter of whether rudy has a lifetime pass or not as far as your opinion is concerned. at what point would you call for rudy being moved? and did i just read you stating that you think we'll "progress" into the hakeem offense? oh, my goodness. if that happens, rudy should definitely get canned.
When I said I wasn't ready to heap the blame on Rudy, I thought I was answering your question. No one should get a lifetime pass. Not many coaches get fired after having a 15 game improvement. Now as far as the dump it down offense, some found it boring but we won 2 championships with it.
What was interesting about the coach of the year voting is how little respect Rudy got. 1 second place vote - at the very bottom of the list. No one thought he excelled. You want to make excuses - fine. He certainly didn't impress anyone like say, Musselman.
it's funny how, for someone who should be "commended" for the job he's done (according to TheFreak), no one else seems to recognize it. it's as if...like...they think he's underachieved or something. imagine that.
first of all, that offense worked fine against man to man coverage, but fell apart against the zone (see: seattle). second of all...don't you see that using that offense would be completely neglecting yao ming's strengths and exploiting his weaknesses??? how can you watch yao ming (i'm assuming you have), and say that the dump it down offense would be good for him? please explain this, because i am...just...speechless.
And the damned idiots that voted for everybody but RT didn't even have the decency to admit they were "stupid".
Hakeem had issues with the zone defense. We kicked Seattle's ass with CB in the post so I don't think it is the offense. Obviously, we are going to need better shooters to make it work but that ball is going into Yao 80% of the time he is on the floor next year. Other than maybe putting the ball on the floor, what Yao weaknesses will this expose? His passing? His shooting? His height? Speechless.... is one thing.... you are... not.
