"Fell apart?" They were better last year, and better three years ago. All the JVG
clones seem overjoyed at 45 wins and a collapse over the final quarter of the season
and the first round of the playoffs.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. 1-4 (.200) is still 1-4, and the coach needs to take complete responsibility for 7-15 (.318) when it matters.

    Somewhat unrelated.

When Nellie was asked how the Mavs were going to turn up the defensive intensity required in the playoffs, he answered, "Two words: we can't." I thought that was hilarious.

Why cannot Barkeley just shut up? He doesn't much thing valuable to say. In the past two years, his comments on TV can be summarized as sucking up the asses of Shaq, Amare, and Manu.

After Shaq being proved to be ineffective in the first 4 games, he was still saying Lakers needed to feed Shaq in order to win Rockets. yeah right, Lakers tried to make games between Shaq-Yao, and we beat them 3-1 in the first 4 Shaq-Yao matchs.

When Nellie leaves Dallas (yes there is HEAVY talk of it here in D-town)... look for Rudy T to be wined and dined my Cuban...

Uh, oh... I may have to root for the Mavs in that case... as my number 2 team, that is.

Which would make it easier in my house come hoops time since my wife is a semi-mavs fan herself. (I made her a Rockets believer by watching old tapes and seeing old artifacts from 94 & 95.)

Interesting. Sorry I missed this, had to revive it.

    Go Rudy! ;)

    Here's my masterplan...

    1) Nellie gets the boot, Rudy T takes over.
    2) When Yao Ming's contract is up, he signs with the Mavs.
    3) Cuban moves Mavs to Houston, renames them Houston Rockets.
    4) Ming, Nowitzki and Nash proceed to win the NBA title 8 times in a row.

    ;)

When Yao Ming's contract is up, he signs with the Mavs.

So is Yao signing for the MLE and giving up $40M or so in salary? Because, Dallas will be capped out for a long time, so they won't be signing any FAs for more than the MLE.

Hmm good point :). I'd still love to cheer for a team with Yao Ming and Dirk Nowitzki on it that is based in Houston and coached by Rudy. Maybe I need to refine my plan for that ;).

 wanna make sure, you are just kidding, right?

Rudy certainly deserves more respect than bash, right?

I think he was talking about how unpleasant it would be if our beloved former coach took the head coaching job of our interstate rivals. Or at least I hope that's what he's saying.

In any case, bring back Rudy! One year of Van Gundy is enough. Ship out all of the old, "veteran" players JVG brought in from New York (this means you, Ewing) and let Rudy have another shot with a more experienced Yao Ming and a somewhat smarter Steve Francis.
