Depending on the asking price I'd love to have Fernandez....and on a side note Rudy flopped terribly on that play with Ariza.

Most likely. Blazers just want a future pick.

I hope you are aware that's pretty obvious. While the circumstances are extremely different, you can't base your judgment on another teams opinion. If you did what everyone else was doing, you'd always be a step behind. I'm stating that just because another team wants to get rid of him doesn't mean he can't find a fit here. Different team, different circumstance, different style of play, different players.

The only reason why the Blazers want to ship him out soooo bad is because he's already said he might go back overseas, so the restricted label is kind of useless, unless the Rockets give him a offer he cannot refuse, which might have to be the full mid level 36 mill type contract. But with the types of contracts they been given out in the last few days plus Brooks and Yao being free agents next season, I doubt they will haven enough dough to keep him and Yao and Brooks. Morey would be dumb to give away those Knicks picks for him.

Good point my desire for him on this team always makes me forget that he is a rfa so even if he does have a break out year and does great, he can bolt to europe and we would be left with nothing but a first round cap hold if we wanted to hold on to his rights.

Scola was traded because the Spurs wanted to sign MATT FREAKING BONNER.

Also, Lowry was Memphis' 3rd string PG.

Also, Ariza couldn't do jack squat in Orlando before traded as filler to LA.

The list goes on and on... Many times, one GM's trash IS another GM's treasure in the NBA.

How about adding Rudy Gay was traded because the Rockets wanted Shane Battier? ;)

He'd better head for the D-League, then.

    Or the Clippers.

He's got plenty of NBA money offers from Spanish teams. He'll just go over there.

Exactly. That's the way we wound up with Kyle. He was a third string PG when we got him.

Does the Magic acquiring T-Mac from the Raptors count?

I used to hope that we could get Fernandez. Morey wanted him. And he fits well with Adelman's system. But since we got Budinger, I don't think we need Rudy anymore.

overrated player, soft on D and doesn't seem to have crafty scoring moves. Rather have Ariza for his length and herky-jerky moves.

If the Rockets somehow add Granger/Iggy without giving up Ariza/Battier...

Battier for Rudy + Przybilla (contract 80% insured if he's done)

Rudy $0 buyout with stipulation he returns to Europe

Przybilla + $3M &trade deadline to under the cap team
