I'm glad that Posey finally had a break out game since joining the Rockets. Hopefully he can build on this and become more effective in the offensive scheme. He save the Rockets tonight in the 4th quarter. We should play him at both the 2 and the 3 so that he can have more time on the court. At least he bring defense when his offense is not there on certain night.

I was happy to see Posey hit the 3 tonight. I guess he will be the starter at SF until Rice gets back.

Posey, I think, fits in nicely with Ming's game. He's a slasher and Ming always seems to hit a slasher when he has the ball. His rebounding is great and so is his defense. Putbacks are just bonuses to his game.

Still, I think he's more effective off the bench. Our future bench, at least, looks good: Cato, Nachbar, Posey, Moochie. Ming, Francis and Griff are future starters. The 2 and the 3 need improvement.

Hopefully, we can get something good for Rice this offseason. Lots of teams are dying to have a 1 yr contract @ 10M.

If he has no offensive skills what does a 6 from 19 game from Francis mean?

Francis has the offensive skills to throw up a lot of shots but at the moment he does not have the effectiveness, efficiency and decision making required to be a good shooter.

Given the right situation, Posey could score in bunches. In transition, cutting and offensive boards.

As per the BBS, I think it is a wider issue with the way the Rockets play as a team.

Rudy should borrow and adopt the Sacramento, Dallas and NJ playbooks. The way he (or whoever is running the Rockets) uses the thoroughbreds he has in his arsenal is criminal!

    Francis, Mobley, Posey, Griffin, Ming

    Kidd, Harris, Martin, Jefferson, Collins

    Bibby, Christie, Stojakovic, Webber, Divac

    Nash, Finley, Griffin, Nowitski, Bradley

The Rockets should be running, running and running!!!

Let the transition game be the driving force to easy baskets and momentum. If it was good enough for the above teams, the Blazers of the early 90's to reach the Finals twice and the Fakers to 5 titles, then why not?

Many folks gave me a hard time but "I told you so." The James Posey trade was addition by subtraction. The important part of the trade was to get more PT for Griff and MoT. Getting Posey was a nice acquisition to add depth but he does not and never will have much of a role on this team.

The success of that trade will be based on MoT and Griff's play. If they start stinking it up, the KT trade will be a bust. If they pick up the slack and play well, then Posey is another role player, at best.

I still contend that there is a good chance that Posey won't even be on this team after the contract expires. Maybe he will accept a smaller contract and stay but if he gets a bigger offer, he'll be gone in a heartbeat.

So I'm not surprised by Posey's role on this team. It's just what I expected. Maybe he'll catch fire and make an impact...but I doubt it.
