Rudy Gay does not defend well, in fact, he is not even an average defender at his position.... his defense is BAD

Rudy Gay gets 17 pts a game.... on 15 shots a game, not efficient... very mediocre. He does not shoot 3's well to off set his average fg%, further he does not draw fouls at an elite level.... overall, his offensive production is mediocre.

Rudy Gay is a POOR passer, he is essentially a black hole.... for his career, he has averaged more turnovers than assists... since he is not a center, this is not acceptable, especially for a small forward..... his passing is BAD.

Rudy Gay is a competent rebounder, not elite, but not below average either. However, the last two years his rebounding has drifted into the below average realm of.... 4..... thus, he is at best, at this point, an average rebounder.

He is now 25 years old, and in his prime.... even though he has been a mediocre player, with high usage, he has a near max contract....

Not sure what you're basing your criteria of #2 on. If it's regular season, then Terry was not the Mavs 2nd best player. Chandler was. And Marion was better in terms of performance due to his very high efficiency.

If you want to point to Terry's amazing playoff performance, then that performance was far better than what Rudy Gay has accomplished in even his best year. And I'm comparing playoff stats to regular season stats, which in of itself favors the guy with the regular season stats.

Good game for Rudy last night, and maybe he'll get better as time goes on. Also, this thread isn't about whether Rudy is a very good player or not, it's about whether he is about to show the world that he's on Durant's level (see title of thread).

The answer, most likely, is "no" since he has not at any point in his career shown that he's on Durant's level.

You better hope so. Or else Heisley just locked up a 35-win team for multiple years with 3 guys earning near max dollars.

Not worried at all, Rudy Gay is in the process of taking the leap.

I think rudy has the physical and athletic talent to prduce similar to durant, but I don't think he has the metality to do it. He does some of the same things kd does, but he settles for too many jumper and he doesn't go into the post enough. If rudy was getting 9ft per, he would be at about 25 per game. Its kinda like a guy like derrick mckey in the 80s. He had as much talet as pippen, but didn't use it enough to be in that class. Rudy is better than mckey and he's a great option late in games at the end. I think he will be a very good player in the plaoffs because he don't rely on whisles. He and deng are very similar.

He's like TMac without the passing or ballhandling ability.

He's already 25. WHen he finishes making the leap he'll be 30.

Also I think DM is salivating at the thought of getting Marc Gasol in the very near future. Heisley just locked up 3 guys to max money (Gasol, Gay, Randolph) and his team kinda' blows. When that continues expect a firesale very, very soon (i.e. Bobcats giving crash for peanuts).

Another excellent game by Rudy Gay today in leading the Griz to a blowout victory over one of the best teams in the league.

With the Bulls starting PG being John Lucas III instead of D. Rose.

With the Griz missing the best post player in the league as well. Either way it doesn't matter, because the Bulls were still favored to win and Rudy Gay played excellent.

Yeah, the grizzlies aren't short-handed at all. If their team can't even play without getting blown out without rose, that team isn't all that good is it.

The grizzlies lost arthur, randolph, conley for 2 games, rudy is knocking the rusy off his game.

Bulls lost not b/c of Rose. They didn't defend and got murdered on the boards, something Rose wouldn't exactly help with.

Those are the blueprint for the Bulls. Memphis just manned up tonight.

Obviously people do since this thread is 5 pages long. Also, the recent thread in the GARM about Rudy Gay was 11 pages long:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=213546

Thus, as usual, you're wrong. If YOU don't care about this particular player, don't post in threads that are about him.

    Lol...haters gonna hate.

.500 after multiple injuries. 2 to starters. 1 starter returning from injury. 4 new players in the rotation. Yeah that kinda blows...

I would rather have Chandler Parsons when considering contracts.
