We have discussed this about a million times before, every summer again. China was missing their best player these games, maybe you have heard of him, he is a tall center, oh and he plays for a certain NBA team, i can't remember his name Also China is not really a good team, they really have no shot at winning the world championships. So these games mean nothing. Maybe USA can try and send a D-league team, that would be funny, because they would have no shot at all. anyway, i will not get into this discussion, lets wait for the next big tournament, and then we can have this discussion again.
I've always thought that the NBA champs should also be punished further by playing in world competitions...the ONLY problem is that they would be missing half of their players, many of whom will be playing for the competition Seriously, there is a good reason why that's not even an option...think about it.
Actually it could be a LOT worse... we could have traded Dwyane Wade for Otis Thorpe at 60 or have no All-Stars and get swept in the first round three years in a row.
