I never understood why people make such a big deal about someone getting dunked on. All the great big men have gotten dunked on at some point, numerous times. At the end of the day it's still only 2 points.

i guess i shouldnt be surprised. i got on the board long after the YOF's showed up, but I honestly didnt think there were that many...I guess all these Yi fans are YOF's also...It figures...the guy got dunked on, but there are all these people here trying to make up for it by posting his blocks or saying his hand got caught on the net..... based off the 23 points he scored in that summer league game, they probably have a bunch of threads on the forum where the YiOFs are "arguing" that Yi is the greatest PF to ever play the game
So? He still got dunked on. What's so hard to understand about that? I realize it was only a summer league game.. I didn't say he just lost the Championship or Playoffs -- I said he got dunked on. And he did. DUH!! Anybody who has played the game of basketball knows that was a nice play by Gay. He took it right at Yi and FINISHED STRONG. So why are you dismissing it by saying it's only two points of a summer league game. It wouldn't have mattered if it was a freakin pick up game.. YI STILL GOT DUNKED ON! Yeah and scrubs being competitive with them makes me wonder why we don't send the NBA champs to play in world competition. I'm really get tired of us losing despite having better talent. And don't tell me the rules make that much of a difference. Team USA just gets outhustled and is a poorly assembled blob of talented pieces - not a team. I bet any decent NBA team (with subs from other teams for international players) could win the worlds or olympics. Hell the D-League champs probably have a good shot. Actually would someone mind starting a thread on this topic as it seems worthy of discussion. Things are boring around here in the offseason...
someone honestly told me rashard lewis was better than yao ming because he dunked on him one time. i don't remember that happening but that's besides the point. the reason this came up was because i was telling some guys at a court that the magic where overpaying for rashard because he was making close to wade, lebron, and yao money. and they all jumped on me, like "rashard is way better than yao." i explained everything that obviously makes yao a far,far superior player to rashard but the response, "yao's 8 feet tall, he should be averaging 40 a game." i gave up at that point. 2 out of the at least a dozen people there agreed with me. so the point of that story and to somewhat answer your question, the average fan, is dumb as ****. that's why dunking on someone is such a big deal.
