I should have included in my statement..."If they don't like the weather here, they can go elsewhere to their summer homes." In the end, it really is a championship level team that attracts the big name FA's...the weather/tax/coach/city situations are just what set apart one playoff team from another...
Yeah...win/lose...basket made/missed, etc. That is what I mean by results with inconclusive origins. Long term these things take shape, but to analyze them in small segments without knowing the reasoning is faulty, and unfair.
lol...well the Houston Rockets have a fairly good team. They had many good times...and at one point...were 8 games above 500...then they just stumbled. We were actually all right. But in the 2nd half.....there were many different problems. During a period....we could not score in the 1st quarter and would be down by 10-20 points..and would have to be trying to comeback. They thought about changing the starting lineup.....but they didn't.....and everything was OK. Later on...they couldn't score. They just couldn't score. Other games...they couldn't play defense. Once in a while, they had an awesome game. The thing I did not like was their longest winning streak was 5 games. They can do better than that...and the coaches have to motivate them to play..Especially against crappy teams. They have to play hard every game. And they need to do better on the road. They were the worst road team with a winning record. The coaches have to prepare them better mentally. We should have made the playoffs. The only thing that messed us up was right after the Suns victory...when Rudy announced he had cancer. We still had many opportunities to make the playoffs....but we blew it....while the Suns won. Anyways, next season, if we can win more road games and try to win every single home game, and they have a lot of fans support, and more chemistry...and their roles are defined...and win the games against the Pistons, Knicks, Heat, Cavs, Hawks, and other crappy teams, then we should be fine. But then again...the Sonics, Warriors, Grizzlies, Jazz, Suns, and next season some lucky teams are going to be competing for the playoffs as well. It's all on the coaches...unless we get another superstar. Woohoo! Larry Brown is an excellent coach. Being a coach is a very difficult job. There are many things to do....and it is extremely stressful....even though it's basketball...Rudy can stay. But all those assistant coaches need to be moved. We need qualified assistants...
Given the latest developments, I feel that the fact that Larry Brown figures prominently in the possitive assesments of my original post speaks volumes about where i stand on who our new coach should be...I am just amazed he actually might be coming to the Rox.
