Thank you windandsea!! You are the best!

I hope that some day you can make it to Houston to see Yao Ming play -- if you ever make it, the food/drinks are on me!

I think windandsea has earned the trip.

I also think the best reward you can give the Chinese fans, in general, is to root on Yao Ming like he was your adopted son... and cut him some slack the first year or two if he struggles!

Oh, and if you guys help convince the Rockets to play an exhibition game in Shanghai some time, be sure to fly on out and enjoy Chinese hospitality in return.

    Windandsea you are awesome man.
If you EVER need a place to crash WHEN you come to Houston to see Ming play, you can always stay with my family.
It would be our honor my friend!!!

The vast majority of us (those with patience and a reasonable level of expectation) will have no problem with your request. Please be prepared for the fact that a small minority of the American culture will be "disrespectful". In Yao's initial struggles, there will surely be negative posting here at Clutch City and even some "boos" during home games....these same people will be among the loudest to cheer when the successes eventually come. It is our cultural sports "quirck".

This is very much a future possibility. Prior to the September 11 attacks last year, the following international pre-season games had been scheduled in Germany, Italy, Tokyo & Mexico City:

Oct. 13: Toronto Raptors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves at the Kolnarena in Cologne, Germany.
Oct. 11: Raptors vs. Telekom Baskets Bonn of Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, in Cologne
Oct 11: Timberwolves vs. Scavolini Pesaro of Italy's Lega A at the BPA Palas arena in Pesaro, Italy.
Oct. 13-14: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors at the Tokyo Dome for two games.
Oct. 21: Los Angeles Clippers vs. the Orlando Magic at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico

windandsea- at the top of each post there are some icons; one of them has a pencil next to a sheet of paper- clicking this will allow you to edit your post, if you want.

    Keep up the great work.
