I think what he meant to say was something along the lines of, "I think it's a great city to look from afar as I play for the Houston Rockets. With Carmelo Anthony and Daryl Morey as my teammates."
Wolves really expects to sign him to an extension or are they ready to give substantial asset for a potential one season rental? Strange.
****ty weather is a bigger issue with spaniards than people realise, although he's not married which is a bonus there, many a spanish player has left the english premier league for ****ty weather and no spanish speakers (especially for spouses)
The weather is no worse than Chicago or Milwaukee and there were plenty of great players that played in those towns. I have spent a ton of time in Minneapolis and I agree its a cosmopolitan city that has a fair amount of things to do there.
He likely wouldn't really want to play in those cities either, there's a reason he mentioned it first, it's because it is a big a issue with Spaniards, probably more so them than any other nationality. When Spaniards flag weather, it's pretty much a red flag for crappy climate nations in Europe (go ahead, go find EPL fans and ask them what a spanish player saying "the weather is crap" means).
The guy wont be a allstar but yet everybody is hyping him to be. The only great quality he has is passing, which we have great passers already in the NBA. He will get destroyed keeping NBA point guards in front of him on defense. Minnesota will be highly disappointed
Obviously if the Nuggets traded Melo to the Wolves, they would probably demand the rights to Ricky Rubio.
