Should .8 seconds be replayed at the beginning of the next Blazers matchup?

  1. No, let it go. Roy's shot was a great one and he deserves credit.

  2. Yes. It was an unreasonable reaction time and homecourt adv. is a huge factor

Exactly. Calamities like that shot only occur to your team once or so a season... just feel lucky it happened 5 games into the regular season, not 5 games into the conference finals.

I saw Hakeem catch, shoot and hit a shot in .04 seconds at the end of a game once.

If we are gonna say Roy's shot doesn't count then we have to go and look at every single play in the game, every inbound, every shot and turn around and say did they start the clock early/late/on time. He made the shot, and there is an amount of human error, so be it. If you want to make sure this thing never happens again you have two options:
a.) design a touch sensing basketball that is aware of its location and the clock will not start until a capacitor within the ball sense's human contact inside the allotted space for the court and then wireless transmits to a receiver that the ball was touched, and the receiver takes into account the delay time between the sensor and transmission and adjusts the clock accordingly

    or

b.) don't let them get within 3 points when there's less than one possestion left in the game....

    i like option b more.

no communication... i think he was expecting artest to switch since he was closest to the ball up top.. anyhow that was a defensive lapse

Your pictures don't prove anything, we know the clock started late.

I know the league reviewed it and said it took 23 frames, I say they're full of crap. They didn't want ot have to change it so they counted the frames in a way that would keep it legit. Start counting late and end early.

What should have been reviewed was how soon the clock stopped after Yao's shot. That was UNREAL reaction time.

what i dont get is that they replayed the game last year of the Suns/Hawks in which Shaq wasn't suppose to be fouled out, if I remember correctly, that game was beginning of Dec. and they announced it towards the end of that month that the game would be replayed

why the hell did it take them a 2-3 weeks to figure out that "umm, he wasn't suppose to be fouled out" while it took them a night to figure out that it he made that shot in .8 secs

agreed on this....Yao's shot should have taken more than 1.1sec....and also at one point of the game, the time keeper started the clock early on one possession and the refs had to call for a restart of that play.

anyway, i agree with most of you here, lets move on, its only a game which is early in the season. by the rule of karma, we will get something good like this in return at some point in time. its a long season, lets hope this team improves as the season progresses.
