Keem him away from the Rockets and the NBA.

Ship him to some league in a third world country, let him feel what real struggle is like.

Coach McHale doesn't run this team... He's almost a co-worker of mine rather than an advisor or a managerial type of position
    _____

Wow, one step forward two steps back -- Royce just STFU and do your job.

he sounds well spoken in that interview, although i still think that going out on twitter was immature. when players go out on twitter and talk about there team, it just seems unprofessional. he stated that he hasn't received pay yet which is fair because he has not performed, so i am not as mad as a i was before. i have always agreed with the notion that mental health is important and should be addressed by the NBA, but the way royce came out about it rubbed me the wrong way. i hope this thing blows over and he becomes a successful NBA player, but at this point its been awhile since he has done anything on the court and i think the fans want to see results instead of talk. i am not sure if any bridges have been burned, we will see...

Maybe you are taking what he said the wrong way. After all, Mchale is supposed to be a "player's coach".

Well, now DMo and TJones can carpool with Royce back and forth between Houston and RGV.

for the full article...loved Daryl's response...:)

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2013/01/royce-white-considers-mchale-a-co-worker/

Rockets rookie Royce White, in his conversation with KBXX on Wednesday, said part of the difficulty with coming to an understanding with the Rockets is that Kevin McHale is not the authority on such issues the way his college coach, Fred Hoiberg, had been at Iowa State.

“Coach McHale doesn’t run this team,” White said. “Despite what people think, he has very little control over this team. From a basketball point, he runs it, but from a business level and from an operational level, he has very little say. He’s almost a co-worker of mine rather than an advisor or a managerial type of position. That’s one of the big issues here.”

Told of White’s assessment of their respective places on the Rockets’ organizational chart, McHale left his response at “All right.”

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey seemed more amused. Seeing the pack of media waiting for the pregame session with McHale, Morey said, “Is my co-worker here?”

Ha, yeah kinda awkward media session there with McHale and them asking/telling him about Royce White. McHale told him to #BeWell. :p

He acts like he'll be so professional if he gets the chance. It doesn't sound like he is all that "professional." Everything is about him at all times.

I wish him well though. If he does do well, and he acts professional than more power to him & his hold out, but I think when the money comes in he'll be having a FUN TIME, for A SHORT TIME. Who knows though?

How many "mental disorders of athletes" have we seen in the NBA...UMM...A LOT! Rodman I'm sure tops most people's list, but least not forget Arenas and his guns over a small little gambling debt (Small money to them), and ZBO in Portland, and the list could go on and on. They played hard, and just kicked butt when they had to. Royce seems like he's not so sure of his style of play in the NBA to me. Like he's scared.

To call Coach Mchale more like a "co-worker." SMH ROYCE. C'mon man. Ya, he may not run it from top to bottom, but that's not how things work in the NBA. Checks and balances are there. Royce must think he's going to be some advocate, and this is his marketing ploy. I don't buy it. I'm sure he has anxiety disorders, and mental issues like he says, but he sure loves to talk, and get real. (when he speaks) I just think someone should point out that he has a better chance of being in a car wreck on the way to a game, or anywhere than for him to be in a plane accident.

I do understand fears of flying, but he can't just chose what games he is available to do so. If he gets a migraine fine, but this is on record that he just got a few of these migraines during this "negotiating process through his doctors & the team & their doctors, and the protocol." Obv. he is only suffering from being scared, scared of what I only know of the planes. Yes, Royce your heart will beat fast when you are "on a stage like that of the NBA." Adrenaline will be natural don't fight it. I feel for this dude. I just think he's too into his disorder, and it's almost like a curse to him. He needs to try & live a healthy life. I know of plenty of people that go to work for far less, and work way harder with just as many mental issues, but whatever.

basically, if he can perform he can get away with this drama stuff

like Manny Ramirez, he got to bend the rules because he was too valuable a player

Did anyone see the segment on HBO's Real Sports? They showed a lot of his highlights at ISU and the way he took it to Anthony Davis and Kentucky last year. Hopefully he can get this worked out because he definitely has a lot of talent.

Hmmm??? What is the trade deadline date for this year? I think I hear him say he will report to his new D-League assignment on Feb-11-2013. So when will he be traded?

Can't wait for McHale to tell him to dribble the ball up to the three point line, pass it to Harden, and then go stand behind the three point line in the corner and Royce to have an anxiety attack.

Feb 11, on this day in history:

2011 – The first wave of the Egyptian revolution culminates in the resignation of Hosni Mubarak and the transfer of power to the Supreme Military Council after 18 days of protests.

1990 – Nelson Mandela is released from Victor Verster Prison outside Cape Town, South Africa after 27 years as a political prisoner.

1973 – Vietnam War: First release of American prisoners of war from Vietnam takes place.

Feb. 21 -- 2013 NBA Trade Deadline (3 p.m. ET). If anything this could be a black day in Rockets history as Royce, yet again, refuses DLeague assignment.
