The average life span of someone with a major mental illness is roughly 55. Cancer kills and so does mental illness. Your statement is among the stupidest thing I've ever read.

 

You clearly have no idea what anxiety is and how bad it can be. No I've never defended Royce and I don't care if you feel bad about him or not. You just need to get your facts straight.

In the 'real world' mentally ill people are fired every day and I would imagine at a much higher rate than mentally stable people. This is because mental illness causes people to behave 'badly.'

There are many people that are too ill to go to work and anxiety disorders are an illness that makes it difficult to go to work. In addition to the direct effects of the illness is the shame that comes with being 'irresponsible' for not bulling through and going to work when seriously sick. Because we are not at a point where we can call in sick for mental illness. We have to lie, as one would with a hangover, and say it's the flu or something. Props to Royce for not doing that.

He is not arrogant when he acts as if nobody knows as much as he does about his anxiety. First there is the evidence of this thread and the lack of sympathy or recognition that his illness is a real illness (if he had cancer, heart trouble or a broken leg, this wouldn't be at issue at all). Second, and much more importantly, nobody's experience of mental illness is like another's -- the experience of mental illness is like a snowflake; no two people are alike or the treatment would be much easier.

The fact that you would call him a brat and a coward is clear evidence that you do not in fact understand his illness and you are unwilling to even try to understand it.

If you want to understand anxiety and other mental health disorders, don't try to learn it by comparing a mentally ill person's tweets to your personal experience. Research the illness by reading the takes of experts on the subject rather than the crazy tweets of a crazy person. There is more than ample information on the internet for you to become educated. Of course, actually knowing about the illness would make it much more difficult to climb up the ladder to your high horse so maybe you'd rather not.

I know someone whose daughter was diagnosed with schizoprenia from childhood. I can assure you that it is terrible.

 

Has he been tweeting day and night? If so we are probably talking about bi-polar.

Anyone know how many followers he had last week? Everytime I refresh, he gets a few more. Excellent publicity stunt, if nothing else. He may have lost his contract with the Rox, but he sure has gained some social media cred...

-Was the absence excused
-Did you ATTEND you're assigned doc appointments that you are contractually obligated to attend and you signed up to do in this case?

Let me say this, Royce White does not want to be a part of the rockets any longer. I just don't see a way out of this. He's done.
