Yes, that's the problem - and he knows this and he is totally exploiting it. The Rockets' hands are tied. His "disorder" is a ready-made excuse for practically anything, whether it actually exists or not.

I'm a huge supported of Royce White but I think he's going about this the wrong way. As an employee at a prominent mental health facility I've seen guys like him on a daily basis and you can see he's in some serious pain. I myself at a young age was diagnosed with anxiety disorder so I know how serious this is but he's got to sit down with these guys and tell them how they can help. When I was younger I was terrified to even go school and when I was in school, I couldn't sit in class, I skipped school because when I was in a room filled with ppl all I could feel was overwhelming fear which led to head pressure, chest pains, dizziness, nausea, etc. So I acted out and got thrown out of class, even getting suspended a numerous amount of time. Its not fun, especially as a kid, I thought I was gonna die. But I had a sit down with my parents, my teacher, the principal and my therapist and we found accommodations that made the learning environment conducive for me.

Royce, they can't help you through twitter, if you're not happy with the way you're being treated sit down with Daryl and Les Alexander and tell them how you think this could work and if it can't then that's fine, you're health is more important than you're career. I wish I didn't have anxiety because I would have had an actual career myself. I was an animal in practice but in front of a crowd I turned into a zombie. Royce has a serious issue but it can't be fixed without being face to face this twitter nonsense is ridiculous.

If this is all about being pissed about the d-league, then have a conversation with Patrick Patterson and Mook Morris, especially Morris because he's the best example of what the d-league can do for your basketball iq

Regardless, the Rockets shouldn't cut him and even if he never played a minute for them should help him deal with this illness because whether or not he has an NBA career he's going to have this illness for the rest of his life...

Fair point. We don't know. Somehow I'm sure both sides are culpable in some way. But nothing excuses White's public twitter tirade last night. It's completely inappropriate.

Bull said while the rest of the team is forming close bonds with each other, Royce isn't around. Morris said in an interview that Royce has been skipping practices and that he has texted concern to White but he was ignored.

I get the feeling he doesn't talk to the Rockets nearly as much as he posts on twitter.

I wish Royce was famous enough so South Park could do an episode about him.

It's simple, Royce is going about this the wrong way and there's also no reason for Bullard to sort of "stand up" for the Rockets organisation, they can handle this themselves. That guy is making things worse since he like 99% of people don't know what exactly is going on and know little about his disorder still. Everybody needs to stop using indirect so called 'social media', sit face to face and talk things out like grown ups. This is childish behaviour and I just hope this is going to end soon. I don't care if they let White go or not, just stop it now!

Trade him to the Nuggets and his anxiety disorder will be resolved.

This. Rockets need to look into voiding his contract and, if they can't, they just need to cut their losses now. Offer him whatever help he might need to show they care, but this guy needs to be nowhere near the team and if had any sense, he'd get the eff off Twitter immediately.

hard to miss a guy that seemingly hasn't contributed anything.

i don't think this will work. i say get out now. it was a bad idea to begin with.

let's see...you want to play in the NBA but you don't want to, or can't, fly. yea...this could work. right...

Umm this is an internet forum, in a country with freedom of speech. Why are you surprised people have opinions, negative or not? This is it how works. When news breaks, people will have thoughts about that certain news. Deal with it.

at this point it is not looking good and for someone who is only a poor poor version of the best player and a solid role player at best scenario...... too much distraction for a pro athlete and too many players at his natural position

    He is not a 3 or 5!

Les didn't make his money by making emotional financial decisions. But I agree now that he has it, he can exercise that luxury, but he definitely shouldn't. Rookie salary scales are quite cheap the first few years, so there's no reason not to retain his rights. A nice young lady in Houston could be half the stability he needs by year 2 or 3 to make some headway into his career.

Someone else said it, "hard to miss something you haven't had" so I don't think this is as big of a deal for Rockets fans as it is to the organization that's trying to improve its reputation for treating players like "assets". Give Royce a leave of absence, and let him know when he comes back the organization will sit down with him to make whatever arrangements need to be made, but 100% he will be going to Rio Grande.

So...basically Royce is saying "if I don't get what I want, the team isn't supporting my mental illness"?????? That's some weak sauce right there.

Hate to say this but this isn't going to work, now or eventually. I used to date someone with a mental illness---by the time I figured it out, it was too late to back out; but there was a lot of good with the not-so-good---and it's just something that doesn't go away, period.

I'm not being cruel or whatever. The Rockets can work with him, do the right thing. But those crowds, the national TV, the pressure? Please prove me wrong, guys. Prediction? At the end of the year they'll let him go. It's too much for both sides to deal with.
