I'd like to ask the trolls and guys that enjoy causing grief - to avoid - contacting him via twitter. His mental condition is REAL. Please do not do anything to make him not want to play for the Houston Rockets. A wasted pick is a horrible thing to happen to your team. There are enough trolls in the twitterverse as it is.

Heated debates on forums are nice and all - but if your intentionally out there to prey on people with disabilities. Your just plain evil.

Maybe the Rockets had a trade in place and White thought he was getting traded (a la Scola) but it didn't go through.
And now he's all "i'm an asset".

    ugh...

kinda hard to be a fan of a guy who just wants to give up when he doesnt get his way.

He has to understand that there are two sides. If everyone did what he is doing, illness or not, there would be no professional sports. You should always show up for work. You talk out you differences, not go pout and blame your condition on it. The team is paying you millions of dollars, you are an investment to them.

At this point, I'm just tired of all the drama. And I shudder to think that this is only the beginning. I’m sorry that he has this condition, I really am. He may be a talent and has crazy upside but all of these just means he isn’t suited for the nba. Not yet anyway.

This might sound cruel but the fact is that for someone who hasn’t played a single minute of regular season with us, the attachment just isn’t there.

I hope that somehow, we’ll be able to let him go without too many legal implications. Let him continue with his treatment and figure things out before he even attempts another pro career.

It’s such a shame that the situation have come to this. It’s a little bit disappointing to see him squander this once in a lifetime golden opportunity to showcase and improve his talent.

For someone who purports to be a philanthropist and wanting to raise awareness of anxiety disorder, etc. he is doing the exact opposite. It also does seem a bit selfish as another well-deserved player could have been drafted.

I’ve just did a quick skim through his twitter. If only he puts as much efforts to his basketball practice than his business venture iammusic.com. Based on his tweets, his mind seems to be more on his business venture than bb – movie directing, erotic art, etc. Tweet dated 11 November. I’m surprised he wasn’t fined…although it’s a little bit tame compared to JR’s. ;)

I wouldn’t mind if he blogs or tweets of how he overcome his anxiety disorder on a day to day basis.

I'm sure apart from his agent, he'll have a powerful lawyer with him too.

p/s: Just noticed that he kept changing his handles…millionaire and philanthropist are no longer listed. I may be wrong but I think he did once listed millionaire and philanthropist.

    I just woke up
Logged onto clutchfans (or clutchcity as us old schoolers call it)
I was having a nightmare. Our 1st rounder was trashing the organization publicly. Bullard was antagonizing him publicly. Morey was hiding from the media. Les was furious. And Clyde Drexler was still commentating games while the infinitely more talented Calvin Murphy was relegated to the half time show.

    Wait...

Gotta think from a risk vs reward standpoint and not from a pro/anti RW standpoint. Have the ability to use funds not counted by measures to prevent your team from improving (like the cap), so why wouldn't you use it?

Obviously 80% of the people here are kneejerk reactors from the majority of things said here, but dumping him this early isn't worth anything. What do you gain by dumping him?

If he happens to turn things around and be a successful player, the Rockets look like an outstanding organization that goes out of their way to ensure the success of their players. Obviously this is another great bargaining chip for potential free agent signings in the future.

If it doesn't work out after a season or so, then so be it.

Please explain why getting rid of him now is in the least bit logical from the team's standpoint. Doesn't make any sense what-so-ever.

Is it possible that the Rockets could void his contract? That would be reason enough right there. Even if they can't void his contract, keeping him is going to be an ongoing distraction with his increasingly shrill and erratic media outburst. I believe the phrase is team cancer.

The Mavs recently booted Delonte West for a hell of a lot less than this. Then again, I believe the Mavs are a better run org, though it pains me to admit it.

Playing for the NBA is just like any other relation between Employer and Employee. Its a JOB. In a job - If you dont turn up to work then you get fired - If you trash talk and diss the company you get fired. If you are not fit enough mentally or physically to carry out the role which is expected of you then why should the Employer keep you? Seems pretty logical to me.

I got an excuse for Royce.. Use the "I thought it was all a big scary dream"..
He's a young man... If they can resolve this within the organization, it think they can let this episode go and move on... just blame it on inexperience..

(Though twittering is not really a productive way to resolve personal problems... it just make it bigger..)..

Not sure why some people feel inclined to have an opinion on every subject, even when nobody really knows what's going on.
Why so quick to judge? What's the point? Do you need to find somebody or something to blame to deflect from your own life? Does it make you feel better? Bored old people tend to do this. Are y'all bitter old people? :p

I mean, I understand fans being frustrated and for all I know White might be a serious head-case and just play the victim here, but really, we don't know and I don't see the point in speculation and putting blame on either side. Mental illness is a touchy topic and in White's case bumps in the road had to be expected. Whether or not the current issue can be resolved remains to be seen, but again, I don't see the point in speculation what's going on and whom to blame here.

the only reason i can think of for keeping this POS on the roster is that next year he'll be an expiring contract that could possibly be added on in a trade.

You hit it right on the nail, its the human need to be right, and inflate their own egos. It's why we don't back down when arguing about things we have no control over like Jeremy Lin's future potential lol. We're all guilty of it, but it's bad when someone doesn't even realize they're being ignorant, quite dangerous actually.

The Rockets organization should hold on to him only for PR purposes. Imagine the headline, "Rockets Cut Player For Having Dissability".
